I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have been in so much pain. As i was going down the list for spots that hurt with the doctor i stopped and said for her to pick a spot and it probablu hurts. Today my elbows and wrists and hands really hurt along with my shoulders. I am hopimg for prayers and for people to like....i don't know...cross their fingers or something. Any advice would really be appreciated. Any good books about fibromyalgia? This reaaly sucks.

Well..my thyroid might be a problem. I have a high TSH but normal T4. TSH increases when your thyroid isn't producing enough thyroid hormones...if only the TSH is high, it could be early or subclinical. We recommend the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" to everyone. You can find it on Amazon. It will give you an easy to understand overview of this complex disease. And, it is a good educational tool for families and friends.
You don't say what medication regime that the doctor has started you on to help with your symptoms. Some more information would be helpful. Take care.
I've heard it spoken over my symptoms, as well, even as medication was offered. Still, I have felt as though this diagnosis is one that is given when doctors are not sure what to do. Medication seems to be a Hail Mary, as well.
I'm really not angry, though it may seem so. I've just come to terms with the humanity of doctors...they really want to help, don't have the time/encouragement to fully explore a complicated issue, and are overwhelmed by a pile of symptoms.
So, I AM confident in one avenue....prayer to my Creator, my Father, my Redeemer, and learning to become part of His Kingdom.
I know He is Healer, Wisdom, Comforter, and Hope. Since He made me and loves me, He is able and desirous to bring me back to health. Prayer is my moment to moment tw0-way conversation with Him; He tells me what to do and takes on what I cannot do. My faith is growing as I find Him taking care of a growing list of issues. I have also plugged into others who will believe for me when I am weak. Some people call that, Church.
Would you like to be included in my prayers? My Father is good and faithful, and His Son, Jesus, bought and paid for Healing. I'm learning to receive from heaven to my body. Also, He opens heaven for me toward anyone I lift before Him because He is not a respecter of persons or positions.

Sorry you have fibro. Im in a pain mgmt clinic and got tylenol 3 for my pain. I tried 4 drugs but i know my body and I'm not willing to take a drug that makes me ill for more than a few days..plus I think takinga seizure med is not what I need but that's what the drs gave me before finally giving me finally tylenol 3.
One day my hands are cold, then my neck is hurting with the feet, then a few days of being ok..meaning pain is in the 3-4 range on the scale of 10 being the worst pain.
It's a rollercoaster.
I was doing pool therapy but the water and locker room are too cold, I was in bed for 2 days trying to get warmed up...booooo.
So, each day is different and I just praise God when I can make it thru.
I'm exhausted today but daughter did all the driving to grandma's and back home.
