I don’t know two much about Naltrexone, except I have known people in the past that were prescribed it. One was a friends Mom that took it & she had fibro chronic pain, the other took it for kind of an opiate replacement therapy.

I hope maybe someone has a better answer than me but I just wanted to respond so you know you’re not alone. I have had so much trouble with meds.
If you do end up taking it & it helps, I’d be interested to hear more.

This treatment has been around at least as long as I was diagnosed which was 14 years ago. Quite a few years ago, I asked my doctor about trying it. She is pretty open to ideas and is willing to explore options. I am medication intolerant too. This was an option that she refused to consider which shocked me. There are doctors out there that specialize in dispensing this medication. You may have to find one.

Penni - I think that your best help might be from a functional medicine specialist. They are also called integrative medicine specialists. This is an MD who has an interest in holistic medicine They generally take insurance. I had one years ago. She ran a bunch of tests that were must more specific than anything that I had done by my army of conventional medicine specialists. She was extremely helpful. I had severe pain in both legs which my doctors were attributing to my lumbar issues. I was in fact allergic to green food colouring which was in the shaving gel that I was using. I had no idea. I still have leg pain which *is* from my back but no where near as intense. That is the route that I would consider.
