My grandmother died from myathenia gravis but I don't think anyone realized she had it until the last several months of her life.

The one symptom I do know you often get is droopy eyelids. Billionaire Aristole Onnasis died from it as well. To keep his eyelids up, he had to tape them so that's why you always see him with the dark glasses.

I don't think I have that. researched it a bit...droopy lids...ya got those ?

I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis about a year ago, and I must say it's been quite a "journey". My first symptoms were blurred/double vision and droopy eyelids. Then came the weakness in my jaws (I couldn't chew properly). I had an MRI, CT Scan, an EMG and a blood test to reach a diagnosis. To make a long story short, I am now taking 60 Mg Mestinon (generic version). I tried the 180 Mg time release but it was a lot stronger than I needed at this point and made my symptoms worse, especially my eyes. The 60 Mg is working pretty well for my MG symptoms but is causing abdominal discomfort (bloating and cramps). I am under the care of a Neurologist who has given me Levsin and Bentyl to deal with the abdominal problems but I still have some discomfort. If anyone out there has had the same problems and found something that helps, I would be grateful for you to share it with me.

I started with double vision and aches in neck. Now I have a droopy eye but only in mornings and when I look down . Drs suspect MG had antibody test and it came back negative. Just done the MUsk test waiting results. I'm miserable and would really like to hear what other people have gone through

Hi I have MG, i was diagnosed in 2008 and had my thymus gland removed in 2009, before being diagnosed i was suffering with double vision and overall weakness in my lungs, legs,arms and mouth which made eating very difficult. Following the removable of my thymus gland my condition was stable with the support of medication i.e. pyridostigmine,prednisone,azathioprine and mycophenolate mofetil, at different times and at various dosages over the years. My condition is quite well controlled, but due to the levels of prednisone I have taken in the past my bones have been affected to a degree that I have just had to have a double hip replacement, if you have any more questions about MG please don't hesitate to contact me.
