If you did not opt into part D I'm pretty sure it would be an out o f pocket expense.
If you have an Advantage Plan-a plan that works with Medicare, such as United Health Medicare Complete, you would call United health to check out your co-pays and see if the med is covered.
It may be a good idea to see if you qualify for Extra Help...it is a Government Subsidy Program that pays the majority of your RX expenses if you meet the income guide lines...here's the link to see if you qualify.
