Good tip about clonadine, I'm just a few days late to try - bad timing. Wise words about the doctor, and mine is on top of things...we discussed it on day 1... the biggest problem being all my severe allergies now. Anything that might have helped, or even titrating down steadily and slowly is a no go, sigh.
I really detest fibromyalgia!!!
I'm now 8 days, 4 hours and 33 minutes (but who's counting!) and beginning to return to some form of new normality. Although my stomach'll take awhile to calm totally, and I still feel agitated and like I've got sandpaper running through my veins. It's been, well, hell to be honest. Not sure how I've made it so far (had some help, that's how). 6 years on them definitely has taken it's toll.
The worst bit, though, has been yet another allergic darn reaction that landed me in hospital for a few hours after I used my new washing machine for the first time and it gave out this really strong acrid burning rubber smell. It's still hovering in the house so I'm holed up in my bedroom where it's ok. everytime I step out into the house, even with the windows open etc, there is still the feint smell and my lips and tongue start off and then the chest goes tight and I feel proper miserable again. It's playing havoc with my sleep, and I'm sleepless enough as it is from doing nothing but rest for 8 days! I've pottered a little, been out to commune with my sunflowers, and managed to restart my stretches (closes I have to yoga or tai chi right now) as well as keep food (and plenty of fluids) down a little, so definitely on the up but it does make it harder when doing all this sets off the reactions. The positive bit is they don't go beyond a certain point of seriousness, or else I'd have to do something more about them, but I may as well rest at home as in hospital. I'm going to get my one last antihistamine today hopefully and fingers crossed that might help. I'm debating ringing my doctor for a few 'non benzodiazepine hypnotics' to help me sleep for a night or two...really not sure if it's too late, tbh, having made it to 8 days!!! I also have a 'craniosacral therapy' session booked for tomorrow which will be marvellous at calming and hopefully chasing the last of the withdrawal away.
I must be getting better...I'm craving a nice harty roast dinner with lashings of gravy!! I'll have to settle for more bread and marg (allergic to butter...) but it's a start.
Cold turkey really is no way to go off meds. I wish I'd realised why I felt odd in august and started to at least cut down the dose, but was in too much pain etc etc. I've released lots of emotional baggage lately and I'm sure that's helped ease the pain off the drugs.
Am hanging on in there, will update when finally 'out the other side', both withdrawal and allergy wise.
Sending love to you all :-)
