This is long, but I really do have a question at the end :)
I have been in a flare for a while, but my current situation started Friday. My toilet overflowed, for the second time in a week, not really sure why. While the water level rose on the floor, I took off the back and tried to stop the water, hitting the flow tube in the process. It started spewing water all over the bathroom like a runaway hose. Got that under control, cheap walmart plunger was useless. Cleaned up with 10 or so towels, sanitized, gave up and went to bed. Had a hard time getting to sleep and had a lot of chills/tingles, starting at my head and moving down my whole body.
Saturday, I woke up with amazing pain. I called my two students, took pain meds and went back to bed. My plan to let things "stew" overnight fixed my plumbing problem. The rest of Saturday consisted of pain meds, bed, tv and chills/tingles.
Sunday at breakfast, I had a strong coughing fit. Wouldn't you know, I ended up getting three very large floaters and cloudy vision in my left eye. I didn't freak, but worried all day. I was at my dad's and my pain and chills/tingles continued. I had run out of my Pamelor Saturday, which helps me sleep, so I didn't get much sleep Sunday. And was still visited by the chills/tingles.
Monday, the pain continued, I made an emergency appointment with my opthalmologist for today, ran errands with my nephew driving because of my eye situation, and returned home for pain meds and more chills/tingles.
Today (still Tuesday, I think) started the same, called my dad to find that his tv is posessed and his roof leaked even though it hadn't rained in two days. Nephew took me to the eye doc, where I sat waiting to dialate with a migraine and fibro pain in a room as cold as a fridge, full of people who obviously were feeling no pain. After hearing that my eye problem was a normal sign of aging, with a "pretty" Weis' ring and the cloud would dissipate, I went back to dad's to hear more about the tv posession and help dry up the flood in his kitchen cabinets from the lovely storm moving through, which was also the source of my migraine. And I was still accompanied by the fibro flare and chills/tingles.
So, here's my question as I sit here waiting for the Vicodin to kick in, reflecting on the last few days and how it could be humanly possible for this much pain to exist: I know when I get to bed, I will be visited by the chills/tingles, and I'm wondering if any of you are plagued with this? I'm not necessarily cold, I just get a small area with a chill and it spreads into a whole-body chill/tingle/shiver combination.
And, if you get this, do you do anything that helps?
And, no, I won't be offended if you laugh.

They used to make me panic ,I hate the feeling .If anyone igures them out Idd love to know

sometimes it is in back of neck/shoulder & kinda travels to everywhere! or it might just be hands like they are on ice or my feet!then it travels to everywhere & i just have to stand up & shake & go EUUUHHHHHH
I see an eye specialist that teaches at one of the eye colleges.
He said that not all eye problems are atually the eye but the result of an illnesses in the body or a side effect of meds.

Vent away! No, I would not laugh at your last few days, it sounds exhausting and frustrating. And yes, I do get the chills and tingles. Sometimes the tingles are the nerve endings shouting 'I am here' after the shivers run through your body too much - maybe? And I get the sweats from the pain. At night is the worst! I wake up with wet sheets every night ARGH!
Fibro is unexplainable...a nerve, muscle, brain disorder? And like Mary says, what is going on in your eye, could be originating from somewhere else. I know when I have migraines, everything is amplified, sound, touch, sight, etc.
It also sounds like the vicodin is not strong enough either alone or in of itself. Maybe you can bring up your symptoms to your dr. and they can decide?

Today is the first good day I've had in 2weeks.....yea!!!!!!!
I am a happy camper!!!!!! Of course it's only 830 am and don't expect it will stay that way.

Just some comments... I did mention the laughing bit because at a certain point all you can do is laugh or cry, and I chose to laugh at the insanity of it all.
I have talked to my doc, an she says it is just part of the fibro, but it has just been a constant companion this weekend.
ja36, I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgets what the doc says. I try to get them to write down the important stuff, or I take notes, because I know it will be gone before I get to the door.
misunshine, you described it just right. It does start anywhere and just travel. I feel like I have to just hang on and wait for it to end.
I also get the sweats at night , and in combination with the other is just not right.
The eye thing is, they said, a "normal" separation of the fluid from the back of the eye. Aging sucks.

It feels like I'm coming down with a fever and perhaps the flu but never have the fever or the flu, chills/shivers and pain.
This last week for me has been miserable so I know what you're going through on the pain side, although I haven't had the same stressors I feel your literal pain and I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
If you come up with something to relieve it definitely let me know because I sure haven't.
I realize you asked this question a few days ago, but I just ran across it--Funny, no one mentioned taking your temperature when you have the chills. When I first got sick 17 years ago, I had a fever every day for two years. To this day I run fevers off and on. Last time I went to my internist, they said I was running a fever. All I know is that this weird disease can cause you to feel all sorts of funny ways. Have you taken your temperature when you get these chills?
