You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I was reading an old post that lots of people continued to post on about Pamerol and many people were making comments about Lyrica. My doctor refuses to let me try Lyrica because of the side effects. So I was wondering about personal opinions and how some of you have fared on it. I used to take Amitriptyline, but got off after the insurance companies screwed me around and I couldn't get a refill. Basically quit it and many other meds cold turkey, but it was for the best in the long run. I had developed a stutter from taking so many drugs. Not to mention chronic constipation. It was a rough three months, but I am so much better now that I only take CBD oil, gabapentin and muscle relaxers. Yes, I live in lots of pain, but the CBD oil keeps it down to a tolerable level to where I can function, and the muscle relaxers help me to sleep three or four hours at a time.
I've had Fibromyalgia since 1980s, and I actually think I hurt less now....although arthritis has taken its place. My biggest pain is actually chronic migraines, but similar to Fibromyalgia, I seem to have reached the non-headache phase of migraines having had them for over 55 years. Unfortunately, the auras have continued on and actually increased to syncope migraines. I just posted on the migraine discussion list that my faint on Sunday night had no warning signal and I dropped in a blink smashing the back of my head on a dresser. I was out for 15-20 minutes to awaken with a killer headache....but not nearly as bad as my migraines usually get!
Anyway, all this is to explain that I do know and understand true pain. But my fibromyalgia really is better than it was in the 1980s and 1990s, so hang in there y'all. Yours might improve to! Oh, I am trying to stay off wheat also as I have noticed it increases my pain.
So back to Lyrica...Does it help? Or not?

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

And, you are on Gabapentin which is in the same class of medication. If it is not causing you any issues, stay with it. Take care.
Best wishes!
