Stress + Fibro = big huge flare
I had to move and distance myself from the family that causes problems, but they still have managed to get to me.
The best advice I have is take one day at a time, or one hour at a time if you need to. Don't think about the future., just think about today and get through it. Tomorrow think about that day and get through it.
My flares, I use ice, heat, and a lot of support here on DS....
Healing wishes,
Leo
It's a tough life.....just know that I'm always here to listen.
As far as stress goes - I hope you can find a way to decrease your stress . Stress is no good for people with fibro. For me stress causes anxiety and ultimately makes my pain worse. I have had to distance myself from people in my life that stress me out including certain family members and my husband ( we have been separated for 8 months and will be getting a divorce). Sometimes setting boundaries with people that stress you out can help.
Counseling is a good idea when you have family stress. I know that anything in the family just roars up my stress level and I have to distance myself from it (not take phone calls, tell the person that their problems cause my fibro to worse due to stress, maintain my limits on activities).
If you're having too much activity, you will probably have more flare-ups (I do anyway), Need a lot of downtime to relax and process what's happening. Watching a good movie, or any other distraction is one of the best pain relievers. So is talking to a friend, or an old pal from the past.
And looking at all the "little'' things in your life to be grateful for is good for the body. I do that when I'm especially worried.
You will get better, get on some meds that help (you'll have to push for that) and you will exert more control over your life so it is more than bearable. I'm sure of it.
my son as well! Its been a horrible year trying to deal with my son's addiction and trying to help him with all the legal fees. This I am sure is not helping my pain and I just feel overwhelmed dealing with this pain and the kayas in my life. I have never felt this way in my life as I am not a depressed person. This feeling I have is different than anything I have ever felt. I cant even explain it. I cant help myself with these ailments or pain nor can I help my son. Tonight the pain in my hands and feet are indescribable and each day I'm losing more and more hope :(
I relate to your struggles so much. It's so hard not to feel down Not only are you caretaker to your family but you are struggling to deal with condition that I truly believe there isn't anything to help take the pain away. I read some posts and am so curious to know how others go into remission? Mine has never gone into remission. I wish there was something I could do to help you with this pain, It sounds like we have a lot more in common than our fibromyalgia. Do you find your symptoms worsen when you feel the stress?
