Hello,
My doctor called me yesterday because I had some lab work done on Tuesday. Needless to say, my iron is low, my vitamin D is low, and my calcium is very low. I now have to take B12 injections, calcium supplement, vitamin D supplement, and iron supplement. Just more pills on top of pills. I have also been referred to digestive disease to see why i'm having absorption problems. From what I have researched on this I' pretty sure it the Prilosec I take for heartburn. I've been on this for years and prolonged use can cause absorption problems. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. I cure Vitamin D by skipping the pills and, b/c I live in the Sunny South? Getting ten to thirty minhutes exposure a day depending how much of my skin is exposed, too. (Less skin, more time.) But I am low risk for skin cancer--- and the pills don't absorb well for me b/c my epilepsy med actually blocks the absorption of orally taken Vit D. (Meds. Catch ya coming and going and gone, argh!)
Have other meds helped you other than Prilosec? And are there other ways besides pills? Iron is pretty easily done dietarily--- and doesn't have to be liver, LOL. Caclium's just.... well, for us gals, it's what it is. My stomach cannot abide even calcium citrate, which supposedly is the one for best results. Meh for me, but gotta do what I gotta do.
A lot of Calcium supps have Vitamin D, so that's a two-fer unless it's a prescription strength pill, or you dorc is recommending more than you get with the combo pill.
THat said, I'm rarely ever low on calcium, only twice in life on VIt D, and never on B12, so I'm cobbling together experience from a limimted resource base to say the least.
Maybe your doc can recommend a super-boost energy drink? I know that for some people the issue of absorption can be aided by eating more pureed or blended foods (smoothies, juice, pureed mixes). So that's all I got, other htan a
big soft hug, and keep us posted!
