I still take Lyrica and plan to continue with it and the Savella. I will know more when I am off the Cymbalta completely.
Increased alertness, energy, and pain relief - it's been good for me.
I've tried Cymbalta and Lyrica, and Savella is the only med that has helped my global fibro pain without really bad side effects. The worst side effect for me is nausea.
My doctor and I used several titration packs to increase the dose really slowly over the course of a couple months. This helped my body, which is very sensitive to meds in general, get used to Savella and lessened the nausea. I agree with Pammyann and PeaceN2You, I always take Savella with food - and this seems to help the nausea. Good luck, hope Savella helps you!
Hang in there for the first few weeks as it can be really rough with side effects but they do go away. I had severe headaches, nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite for the first 3 wks.
After the third week, side effects had stopped and I'm on a steady dose of 50mg 2x per day. As another poster said, do take it with or after food. Don't try to take your morning dose on an empty stomach, even after you've been on it awhile.
I prefer this one to Cymbalta due to lack of negative ongoing side effects I had with that.
Good luck!
I stopped taking Savella and realized it wasn't really helping my pain at all.
Best of luch to you!!
