Being that my den is mine & mine alone I am not accustom to all of this. So sweet of all of you.
A quick update. I have been dealing with all of the usual conditions but then a sinus infection shows up & lowers the boom on me. When I went to see my GP for it, she also does some minor surgery for the removal of some skin tags & a wart that popped out of the bod recently in unwelcome places, like there is a welcome one, but take my word - they were in an welcome place. She removed 13 skin tags & one wart. That cold application on the wart felt refreshing to Bear. Now a skin tag has either reappeared or another one has come along.
Worst thing about that visit - she did not like the hole in the bottom of my big left toe so she sent me off to a wound center - yes, a wound center (when you say it, it may sound a little different. Still starts with a w & ends with a d & has an o in it). LOL
I went Monday. They probed - they photographed - they cleaned - they checked the blood pressure in both feet - they cultured it - the doctor cut away the dead skin - they treated it & wrapped my entire foot & then they sent me for rays. I mean the place is much smaller than the eraser on a #2 pencil. My entire body hurts all day long anyway - I was not feeling in pain in my toe.
Now I have to treat it twice a day with a high powered antibiotic & then redress it until I return there next Monday. In the meantime I have to keep my foot elevated as much as possible - since I only have a desktop computer than means less computer time for me unless I learn to type with my back paws (toes). Heck, I have enough trouble typing with my front paws.
Even worse, it's about a 50 mile roundtrip to the doctor & back. Farther than this old bear has been from his den in the last year & more than he can tolerate at one time so since I got back Monday afternoon I have been in additional pain from the driving.
So I am doing my best to obey the doctor. I do a lot of reading threads & all but just don't have time to reply like I would like to do.
Again my appreciation to all of you fine folks.
Take care.
Please accept my gentle hugs, and know that I am praying for you.
I have been on DS for over 3 years, but have had to deal with my fibro & all for 31 years now. It started before most doctors even knew about it. Have had daily pain since April of 1987 & for the last 8 or more years I can no longer take any meds.
In late 2010 I developed CVI (chronic venous insufficiency) - a problem where your blood does not return to your heart from your feet like it should so from time to time I get ulcers on my lower legs. My current problem is I have a small hole in the bottom of my big left toe that has been healing from the outside in rather than the proper way, so I have to elevate my feet once again which cramps me regarding my computer time & since I live by myself that is not good for bear.
I love humor so you often see me on here with some type of nonsense but right now I am trying to listen to my doctor & keep my feet or paws up.
Got a little bit of a setback today. The results of the culture they did on me came back - I do have some mild to moderate infection in that paw (oops, big toe). Went this afternoon to pick up the medicine the doctor called in. Only 7 pills - one a day for the next week. Cost for 7 pills was $103.99 (why they didn't just round it up to $104 is beyond me).
I do go back Monday to see the doctor again. Looks like another stay in the den & watch sports type of weekend for me.
Hope all of you have a good weekend.
Bear
GET WELL SOON!
