just a side note: for those who have IBS, have you tried going gluten free? i was first told that i had IBS. then a new doctor had me try going gluten free. i know longer have the IBS symptome. my doctor did not test me for gluten allergy because you can be gluten intollarent and not have ciliac disease. the test will only be positive for ciliac and not for gluten intollarence.
Anyway, to add to your list....I had a severe case of Epstein Barr Virus about 8-9 years ago. It was not mono but the virus coming out again. I was sick with this for 6 months, in bed. I literally don't remember this time. All I remember is being at the doctors office and then crying on the way home. You see at that visit they took me in the fancy doctor office, sat me down and told me all I was facing. I was told that I WOULD end up with several immune related conditions. They told me RA, MS, Sjogrens, Lupus, on and on and even Lymphoma! I kinda tuned a lot of it out. I was told I would need to have blood tests every 6 months for the rest of my life. Well that went out the door, they quit taking my insurance and my new doctor doesn't believe any of it. So due to this virus I ended up with many herpesviruses and also Cytomegalovirus, which my sister says can be fatal.
So, I now have fibro, CFIDS, Sjogrens, MCTD, IBS, on my way to RA and MS. my wrist is swelling and I will be facing more RA tests that I'm told will most likely be positive. As far as MS, well I had an MRI and they found 5 lesions on my brain. A MS specialist is currently evaluating them. I also have bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder and panic disorder, not related at all to the immune stuff but sure doesn't help me deal very well with the physical stuff. Misery in mind and body. But love in my heart for God, my husband and sons, and my family. Guess that's really the best when you think about it! Take care :-)
