Hi all, I am new here...
And yesterday, I had a "meltdown" of sorts...
A little background. I have had fibro for I don't know how long. I was diagnosed like in 2006 or so, but I can remember symptoms way before then.
Anyway, I am on Lyrica and started taking Savella in January.
The Savella takes a while to take effect. I saw some relief, I think, by the 10th day. I was going along, whatever, and then last week came, and I started to feel this build-up of pain. I don't know, it was like someone had a "Karin voodoo doll."
I was starting to think something was seriously wrong with me (bone cancer?? syphilis from my disgusting ex-husband )
So I started looking more into fibromyalgia stuff and found out that it just can be THAT painful. I seriously didn't know. I guess I just felt like a "baby" because people treat me like one when I say I have this disorder.
Anyway, I called my neurologist and he increased my Savella. I'll see how that goes.

I'm looking forward to hearing how the Savella works for you.
My pain has increased 10 fold in the past few months. I too didn't realize it could get worse than it already was! I'm now the proud owner of a cane....NOT:( But, I can't do without it anymore.

Sorry you are having this kind of pain. Some get it much worse than others. Hopefully you'll have luck on Savella.
"Low tolerance for pain"? Yeah look at the list of things we are dealing with besides fibromyalgia in the post about what else we have. I got your "low tolerance for pain" right here. Sorry that's one of my hot buttons as stupid remarks made to fibro patients go ;-)
I DO have a low tolerance for stupid...
I JUST heard that from someone when I was in physical therapy the other day. So I started loosening my can of whoop-ass and told her how very mistaken she was and how very real this illness was (mind you, this was the day I was already having my meltdown, so I was carrying my extra-large can of whoop-ass).
She proceeded to tell me, "well, I don't know, my doctor told me that I have fibro, and I seem to be doing just fine...I don't need any medication or anything. He's prescribed me (said this med and that), but I don't seem to need it."
I was kinda weepy and angry at the same time that day, so I backed off. Plus I was trying to do my balance exercises, so I couldn't be bothered. But now, looking back, her non-argument really pisses me off, gotta say.
Oh well, water under the bridge now. Again, thanks for the warm welcome. You all seem like a fun and supportive group. I'm not typically a whiner...lol. I was just having an off day :(
