I give up with this migraine

My neurologist FINALLY got back to me after 4 days and 2 calls, shes not going to do anything, just stay hydrated and rest when i TOLD th enurse yesterday im keeping NOTHING in me cant tak emy meds including heart and depression meds so how the hell do they expect me to stay hydrated????????? I called my primary care told her i have zofran 4mg dissolvable that are doing nothing and can you do something just for the nausea, 4 hours later i get a message to call my neurologist backa nd ask if she can do something else for nausea, are you kidding me????????? What good are doctors right now!!!!!???????? I should of just said f it and gone into the ER but now if i go to the ER right after my neurolgoist doesnt want to do anythign it looks bad if they call her! Mom said wait till saturday and then go in when theres no way for me to call my neurologist again and ask for advice but what about until then??? I havnet heard back on nausea meds yet :(TWELVE DAYS!!!!!!

I would go to the ER anyway. If they call your neurologist and she says she can't help you, they will have to call your PCP, rheumy, SOMEONE else. They can't just leave you hanging like that!!

Its not that she CANT help me she said shes not willing to do the IVs and shots yet. Its been twelve damn days what is she waiting for?????????? I hate being poked but im desperate! I will see how i am in a bit right now keeping a bit in sucking on a popsicle but i cant do that 24/7

Oh sweetie, you need some new doctors. As soon as this migraine breaks (and it will one way or another) try and find someone who gets it. Migraines are not something to be messed with and you need some help. The ER is no fun but at least they might do something to help you...try and stay calm, I know it is hard but getting upset only ads to a migraine. I am sending you a big old hug. WTF? Either the nurse is not communicating accurately to the Dr or Dr is being negligent. You shouidnt have to suffer with a migraine and plus not be able to take your meds and keep fluids down. That is unsafe for your body.

I would go to the ER . They need to stop this migraine and nausea with IV meds and give you fluids IV. That is the standard of care for this.

Sometimes you have to go beyond assertive and get a bit bitchy to get want you need when ill . Maybe your Mom or Dad could help advocate for you .

Also, I take Zofran 8 mg ODT as needed for nausea . I dont know if there is a reason your Dr ordered 4 mg , but I would check with them about that.

I am now getting sips of sprite in me may end up switching from diet to regular depending on sugar levels im at ideal levels right now. My neurologist normally handles them but im wondering if shes upset my PCP recommended a migraine specialist a month ago but my neurologist agreed with her! I am waiting for approval referral was made a month ago. My PCP has NEVER done anything like this before like refusing to help with the nausea and the nurse that called me back is the one i have issues with so im thinking thats the issue there that something was NOT told to her right. I have to tread lightly, my neurologist prescribes my oxy for my back and other meds and i cant risk losing them omg id die in pain without it! Sighs will see what tomorrow brings if i dont end up in ER before then. I was on 8mg ODT at one point but now on 4mg? dunno why i have to check into it.

Hi, when I get a really bad migraine my PCP has given me phenergan suppositories and if they don't help she will have me go in for IV push of phenergan & darn something else. Sorry I can't remember the other med. You know how it is when you have a migraine you can't concentrate. Anyways what they give me in the IV push knocks me on my bootie and my husband has to drive me home and put me to bed. AND my migraine is gone in an instant. If I remember what the other med is I will let you know. I hope you feel better! Hugs!

Still nothing done for me, taking small sips threw up about half hour after taking my meds last night, still so miserable. ER mom said either tonight after the drs office closes or tomorrow morning if needed depending on how i am. Giving the Dr a chance to call in maybe some compazine? I cant take phenergan or reglan they both give me uncontrolled movements of arms and legs which is 100 times worse than RLS i mean my arms and legs move up and down etc UGH! Phenergan is what i used to take but were afraid after the reaction the last time. So either zofran or compazine so either she ups my zofran or orders compazaine. We will see........... I dont have high hopes of her doing anything i am very disappointed with my neurologist right now.

Is the other med toradol by any chance? I usually get phenergan, toradol and something else for a shot cocktail that is nearly instantaneous and knocks me on my but.

I am sorry you are in so much pain. I agree that you need to check about a new doctor. I have never had to do more than reach my max daily dose of immitrex before getting the shots. I can't believe that you have had to go multiple days.

Angela, I can't believe your PCP and neurologist are letting you suffer. I thought the ER has to help you no matter what the doctor says? That migraine specialist referral needs to hurry up! You can't go on like this.

I FEEL AMAZING!!!!! My migraines almost zero, it took 2 bags of fluids, two doses of dilaudid, iv compazine as well, iv toradol and dexatrom all by iv that is. I feel so much better and was a wonderful ER Dr!!!
