I have fibro, sicca syndrome, arthritis, ocd, IBS, etc...etc...and was recently diagnosed with ADD. My husband killed himself on May 2. He was bipolar and going through deep depression. I lost my home (forclosure) because I couldn't live where he had died and I couldn't afford it on my own. The real estate company had a buyer but for some reason they forclosed anyway. My pain is worse due to the stress and I am unable to work. I found out today that my long term disability was denied because I haven't had it long enough and so all my problems are considered preexisting. I am going to have my doctor write him about my ADD and I guess now I will try Social Security and Teacher retirement/disability. I just feel so overwhelmed. I know if I didn't have a relationship with God I wouldn't be able to go on. I also have a great family. But I have no idea what I will do while I m waiting for some money to come in. I was going to sell my husbands car but hired a man to paint it about 3 months ago. He gave it to me once but the job was terrible so he is redoing it. For some reason the battery keeps running down on it. I think my husband tried to put in a new radio and that is part of the problem. I wish my husband were here to tell me what to do! I miss him so much...I know there are people with many more problems than me but I could really use some advice. Thanks for any answers...Jeannie
Hope you have a good social worker who might give you advice? do you have family there? I know some folks out in Arkansas.

I don't know if this will help but when her attempt did not work I asked her "mom why would you do that". She said that she didn't want us all to have to go through another one of her nervous breakdowns and she could feel herself getting really depressed again. Like so many of the people left of those that commit suicide, they feel like "what could I have done" - "what did I miss". There is NOTHING you could have done. It is obvious he loved you so much that this was his way out for himself and for you. Is it a selfish act - I really can't answer that because my mother did it FOR US as she said - not for her. Like I said, I don't know if this helps at all but this is what my experience was with my mom.
I am truly sorry for your loss and all that you are going through emotionally, financially - everything. Thank God for your children and precious grandchildren - they have a way of making us smile and laugh. Don't ever give up. Things will get better. Trust in the Lord like many have said here. my heart breaks reading your story... my sould aches for you. and if i had the power, i would help you and people like you. how about Oprah? do you think she would help? or the 700 club? someone out there with the power and money has GOT to be willing to hear your story and do something.
