So I went to the local animal shelter today to donate some towels, and came out with a cat. I saw his picture online and thought he was adorable, and his description kind of resonated with me. They said he came from a house with a lot of cats and kind of got lost in the shuffle, and he needed someone who was willing to work with him to get his confidence up because he is very shy. I found out when I was there that he has gingivitis that could turn into stomatitis, which is very painful but expensive to treat because it involves removing most or all of the teeth. So that kind of sealed the deal because I can handle something like that. He wouldn't come out of the cat condo at the shelter, but he was purring, rubbing and kneading, and he took treats from my hand. When I got him home, he came out after about 2 minutes of petting. He's in the spare bathroom and will be until he feels more comfortable, but he already seems more relaxed than he did at the shelter. So anyway, without further ado, this is Nox :)

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I text my hubs. But he reminded me that our HOA has a 2 cat limit per household. I tried reminding him that McCaughey would be an indoor cat...and he was big, like a dog and the HOA does allow you to have two dogs and we only have 1.
I had a hard time leaving that big dude behind. I might go back and get him. I don't know. He was awesome though...and while I like talking and playing with the cats we run into like that, I've never wanted so badly to bring one home. I think I need to have a heart to heart with my hubs.
