Well..my thyroid might be a problem. I have a high TSH but normal T4. TSH increases when your thyroid isn't producing enough thyroid hormones...if only the TSH is high, it could be early or subclinical. Will wait and see if they want to do anything about that or just recheck it at some point. Either it'll even out or my T4 will drop. Meanwhile it's hot and I'm working with Karen, and I have no...

Sorry you also have this illness. There are a few books you can get to help you one is called Fibrolyalgia for Dummies another one is called The Everything Health Guide to Fibromyalgia Book (by Winnie Yu): https://books.google.com/books?id=lZO76--tu9UC&pg=PR11&lpg=PR11&dq=the+everything+i+need+to+know+about+fibromyalgia+book&source=bl&ots=610RuOYreB&sig=2EMFL1G4YY9s40a2dd1ebWIHoxo&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiH0LDm_4HKAhVW0GMKHVSCBH0Q6AEIWjAI#v=onepage&q=the%20everything%20i%20need%20to%20know%20about%20fibromyalgia%20book&f=false
2 important things you will need 1. have a good doctor and a good relationship with that doc. If you don't click with him / her get a new one. 2. Learn to pace your self. There's something called the "spoon theory". It bests explains how we have to save our energy, etc, and handle ourselves when doing tasks through out the day. You should probably look that up.
Hope to see you around regularly! We have a daily check in on the board that Leo usually does.... hope to see you there.... take care!
I hope you have a great Rheumatologist that can help guide you and maybe have you try some new meds that could help. Several people take meds that help decrease their pain or help with depression or anxiety. I have a weak stomach, and I'm currently only taking Thyroid medication which has helped some with the fatigue, more so in the beginning. I see a new thyroid doc this week and I'm hoping he can make some necessary changes to help me.
That is another thing. I have stopped telling people I am "tired". Now I use the term "exhausted" because that is what I am. Exhausted. In the begging, when I became too ill to work, it was the pain and brain fog that stopped me. I think it is the exhaustion now.
It is my belief that somehow my body isn't absorbing nutrients properly. I have felt this was for many years, primarily because of how the pain feels now. It is just like the oxygen debt you can get into when strenuously exercising. I used to run 6 days a week, and that feeling is familiar to me. It used to only come over me when I was running. How it comes on to me from getting out of bed.
Then, a few months ago, I read where some doctor had come to this conclusion, too. He probably just listened to his patients.
I hope things level out with your symptoms. In the early years, for me, the severe symptoms came and went. Now, at 64, they are always here. I am amazed every day how much disturbance my body and mind can take. If you had asked me years ago if I could stand this for so long, I would have laughed. But you can learn little tricks that will help you deal with this horrible condition. Don't be afraid to come back here and spill your concerns. We are all here to help each other. It's the one thing that I I can still do that gives me a feeling of accomplishment and giving to the world.
