Hey all,
Has anyone else experienced burning skin? My left ear decided to start burning like it was on fire or had acid poured upon it. It's been almost 6 months and I've seen my dermatologist, gastroenterologist, fibro/arthrisitis doc, GP, PT, etc. Not one of them have any answers.
Now the buring is moving into my left cheek. My skin turns bright red and is super warm, even hot. I have to put ice on my ear! Ridiculous!
In addition to the horrible pain in my left ear (and now cheek), I start to feel like I'm being suffocated. I can barely stand it without screaming, crying, raging, etc.
Please, would someone tell me I'm not completely crazy? Nibbor :)

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

You answered your own question beautifully when you replied to my post about the damned paper cuts.
If you're crazy, then you have company, and so do I, ha ha.

Gabapentin which is a prescribed medication may help with this issue. As I said in my earlier post, you need to see a neurologist. Take care.
Fantod: I did go see a neurologist (for really bad headaches that just started mid-Dec) and mentioned the painful burning (which also just started!). He just said it was part of getting older. WHAAA? No one person I know has this problem so I doubt it's just part of aging.
I looked up RES and was SHOCKED! How could a neuro NOT know that headaches can cause RES? Fantod, maybe YOU should be a doctor! You could get a ton of $$ AND help people. :)
Does anyone else have a mouthguard? Have you noticed an increase in headaches when not using it? Ta, Nibs
Thank you so much for the lead. You're right, sound just like what I have! I left a message at neuro dr and we'll see what comes of it.
Did you mean you have lupus? Not sure what luoys is... I'm so sorry you have such a burden to carry. I think Fibro should INCLUDE the chronic fatigue and pain, don't you? I mean it's kinda in the description. Guess some old time/ignorant drs who don't BELIEVE in fibro have to call it something tho.
Just wondering: do you have any gastro issues? I have chronic pancreatitis, gastritis, gastroenteritist, icky-itis, etc. Take care, Nibbor aka Robbin (get it?)
Happy weekend all! My lawn guy has tamed my backyard jungle. I love him! A human machine, he just keeps going and going. It's after 8pm and dark outside but he's still weed wacking. Reminds me of my younger self. :)
