Hi everyone,
I have been MIA for awhile. My fibro was in remission for awhile and isn't too bad right now. My problem is this: more than 2 weeks ago I broke out in a rash. The rash is everywhere except my face and feet. Yes, even my scalp is affected. I feel a tightness in the skin on my cheeks and nose, but no rash. The rash itches, hurts, and burns. It's driving me batty!
I went to my PC and a dermatologist. The derma did a skin biopsy Friday and I had blood work done Monday. Does anyone else have this?
Thanks in advance!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Hey that rash sounds familiar. I had something like that about 4 yrs ago. It felt like little razor blades cutting up my skin! Does your skin crack, peel, or flake off anywhere? Mine had areas like that. It was so painful! The only thing that helped was a lotion called CeraVe. Got it from CostCo at the pharmacy (over the counter). I put in on all over my body after every shower (do not towel off) and if needed spray your self with a water bottle and reapply once or twice in between showers.
Of all the lotions, creams, and ointments, this was the only thing that helped me. Eventually my skin healed and it went away.
My PCP said it was eczema. But they never did any tests on me and it never came back. I just make sure to always use CeraVe after I shower whenever my skin starts to feel or look funny even the slightest.
I hope they figure it out! Hugs...
Wow, that's a stinker. I don't get that but definitely hope the doc can figure it out.
Also, maybe have them check for nerve issues? It's bizarre what a nerve on your skull or in your neck can do elsewhere.
Prayers for your healing:-)
My skin doesn't crack, peel, or flake. The bumps are raised and usually when a new one pops up I can feel it...like a needle poking me. The dermatologist gave me hydrocordisone but it makes it hurt worse for about 10 minutes before I feel the relief. I will get some of the CeraVe at Costco this weekend...thanks for the advice :)
Fantod...thank you. I really appreciate it. :)
LeoX3...thank you very much. :)

I'm finding that avoiding those products have done wonders, as did eliminating milk from my diet. I used to have adult acne and it's now gone. I drink almond or coconut milk. Coconut oil is a great product to use for rashes, as a toothpaste, to cook with etc. Another good lotion is medicated Aveeno (not the regular, this one is pink).
Carrie...Wow! You just wouldn't think that those things contained formaldehyde. I will ask my derma about it today. I'm not sure what all the blood work was for other than lupus and arthritis.
(((hugs))) to you both :)
Do you know the results yet from your derm visit?
I hope all is good.
gentle hugs
I hope you're all having a great weekend!

My rash ended spreading to pretty much my entire body, even in between my fingers. I remember it being on my chest and my bra just making it very uncomfortable. Was also on my legs and ankles. Doctors couldn't do anything to help me.
I hope in your case, they can / will. Check the side effects of all the meds you're on. You never know. Also check your laundry detergent, bath soap. Maybe try using one for sensitive skin for now. I remember doing that, as well. And that goes for softeners & deodorants, and I stopped using perfumes (at least until a few months after I got better).
Oh yeah, one more tip.... I don't know what you use to scrub in the shower with, but i had to stop using those typical shower scrubby thingies (plastic netting), or the hand glove scrubber. I read on a web site if you're going to scrub that you should use something soft like a soft wash cloth, so I did that, too. Has something to do with scrubbing away your good oils and irritating your skin.
Good luck!
After I broke out in the rash I started using organic oatmeal bar soap. It didn't really help...but I'm going to keep using it. The derma gave me hydrocortisone cream but it made it hurt worse. He put me on a prednisone type Z-pac that I will take for 5 or 7 days, I can't remember right now.
Thanks so much for your reply :)
