Hello fellow FM great people :)
I was wondering if any of you get so sick of trying to put on a good face and seem full of energy and pain. I am normally an upbeat, optimistic person. I think my need to keep this faade up when I'm doing well is making me anxious.
Some people are so sweet and kind with suggestions or books they have read but.............. I feel that they think that's going to "cure" me and to me that is feeling like pressure to get better.
I have done a lot of research and try to decrease my stress level. I work 4 days a week and today I happen to be off . One Monday a month - instead or feeling good about reading and resting - I feel bad because I should be more productive.
I feel like people say rest but............. when they see me rest it's not okay.
This is all negative self talk but I wonder if anyone else can relate.
You're all the only ones who TRULY understand.
Thank you for your ear and comments. Blessings to all, PJ

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

I can relate to what you are saying but I put most of that behind me a long time ago. I've found that I can be a lot more productive and even have some fun once in awhile if I pay attention to my body.
As for people making *helpful* suggestions, try to ignore them. They have no idea what it is like to live with this beast. Bottom line is that you have to do what is best for you and not the rest of the world. Take care.
I've had fibro for almost 10 years. I don't put on a happy face when I feel crummy, but I do try and be as pleasant as I can. I tell my husband in the morning how it looks like my day will go, and we plan things accordingly.
As for offers of cures...I just got one of those this week. Magic Juice, I call it. People want to help, but they just don't understand. I give a polite no, normally. I take several meds, and I don't know how these vitamins/herbs etc...mix with that.
Anyway, hang in there. Give yourself peace, and don't worry about pleasing others.
