Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I'm so happy that we have this group. So alittle about me some might know me from the ptsd group and a few others. So I was diagnosed with fibramialga in August of last year. I was having joint pain and my back was hurting bad. I went to physical therapy and that helped some but also take muscle relaxers. In January the leg, ankle and foot pain started really bad. It hurts to walk, laydown anything. Sometimes I just lay down and cry because I'm hurting so damn bad. Been having headaches to. I appreciate all of you and I'm here to support you as much as I can. If you all have any ways to help with pain I would appreciate it so much. Thank you

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Two most important things are:
1. Sleep. Get enough sleep and sleep well at night. Fibromyalgia causes sleep disturbances, bursts of wakings, and many can't reach stage 4 sleep -where our bodies recover and heal. Many of us here have to take sleep aids, either OTC or prescription.
2. pace, pace, pace yourself. Know your limitations, spread out your activities (not all in one day), take 10 min breaks when doing chores, etc. It takes longer to do everything but it'll save you some pain. Also, when I shop at huge places like Walmart / CostCo, I use an electric buggy because getting around that kind of distance shoots my pain sky high. And the scooter saves me the trouble.
And a bonus:
3. Do you have a good doctor? Is he / she up to date in fibromyalgia? Do they click with you? If not, then you may want to find another one who can handle your care.
Yeah, fibro pain in my experience is the worst pain. I hope to see you around the group. Take care.
Heat, ice biofreeze, gentle stretches and an occasional pain pill and muscle relaxer for me, I would take the last 2 more often but my stomach does not tolerate that.
Lots of things to try - massage, acupuncture, warm water pool therapy, epsom salt baths, And what the others above suggested. Lots of muscle rubs out there too.
What works for one person doesnt always work for another.
Are you having sciatica pain down your leg from your back? Maybe your Dr might want to order some testing for your back. Could be more than just fibro.
Do you have the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies?" You can find it on Amazon. It will give you a good comprehensive overview of this illness and a lot of ways to try and manage it.
Do you take any medication now? It would help to know so we can better understand your situation and maybe make more suggestions.
Take care.
