Hello and so sorry to read that you are having so much pain :( Sounds familiar families and friends that don't understand unless they have something similar. You are not alone as that is what most of us go through with our families and/or friends. Welcome to DS :)

Unfortunately we're familiar with the lack of understanding from our friends and family. I told my best friend that I had it, which is a RN, and he just rolled his eyes. We haven't talked about it since. Anyway, come on out and read or contribute or vent or whatever you feel comfortable with.

I'm glad you found Daily Strength. I have so many friends here. I'm sorry for your struggles. It sounds so familiar. My family tells me to push through and I just have to do what is required. I am a mother of twin girls, and I know how you feel when you say you are struggling so much every day. Every day I feel like I can't do it, I can't go on anymore. The pain causes our stress to stay very high, so when a normal demand is placed on us, we stress and it never lets up. You might consider buying a book, Fibromyalgia for dummies, and see if your family would read it with you. My husband refuses to read anything b/c he already knows how much I hurt b/c that's all I talk about. As I'm sure you can imagine our marriage is struggling. It's hard living with this disease, and it is hard on our families too.

You can get through this, it may be hard and lonely, but do know you have us and we completely understand.

Hello my dear friend sorry to hear that you're struggling. I have had this for 20 years and have struggled the whole time and as I get older it gets worse I am now 68. Even some doctors don't understand this is hard to find a doctor to understand I went through several medicines and they did seem to help some people find some meds , to help so you have to try to go through and try to find something to help you get some relief. Make sure you look up symptoms of fibromyalgia ,while just so many ,because there are many and I do recommend that book fibromyalgia for dummies it's very good and tells you in a way you could understand. Most people don't understand it because they look at you and you look ok ,any chronic illness that doesn't have the outside appearance people don't understand I have migraines And Ménière's two and nobody understands it every day I am going through a struggle. We are here for you, ask any question you like ,if you need to whatever you need were here you're not alone.

Welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you have found a wonderful group of people here! Everyone understands what you are going thru because we've all been there or are going thru it right now. It is a difficult disease because you can't "see it" like other diseases. It's important to surround yourself with people who understand. I truly wish you the best!!!

Thank you everyone who replied to my post I have a doctors appointment tommorow so hopefully they can find out what other medication or therapies they reccomend I'm glad there are people here who understand the struggle
