That said, I cannot tolerate cold on my back (nerve damage) so my trick during the winter (when I still need a cold breeze on my face and neck) is to drive with the butt warmer on high, my winter coat open and the air conditioner blowing on my face.
Part of this is Fibro, part is a side effect of two of my meds.
I also break out into a major sweat when I get out of the shower. While getting dressed/putting on makeup, I have the ceiling fan on as well as the fan on my floor. I feel like I'm suffocating when I don't have air blowing on my face.
That's why God made people who made cars w/dual air conditioning settings and dual front seat butt warmers. : )
It almost feels like breaking fevers, but I can't tell if it is a real fever or not.
My husband likes it a great deal in the winter because my core temp will rise and I can warm a king bed almost as well as an electric blanket.
I find that going barefoot as much as possible or wearing very airy shoes (without socks or hose) is a big help in my body knowing what temp to be. It sounds nuts, but it seriously works for me.
I walk and half way back even when its is 47 out and I am walking in shorts and a tee shirt I am dripping wet.
The word AC is dirthy!
The winter months are no better either to hot or two cold never just right like the three little bears had it!
Regulate temperature is a thimg of the past I can not wait till I start the big change, that really should be lots of fun!
Stopping it, if you find the answer please lets us all in on the seacret! All I can say is once again layers the can go on and off as needed!

I guess we are just SPECIAL in so many ways! :)
But maybe it is just normal for us? I never realized it was related. I'm sorry your having a hard time with it.
I always just try and make myself comfortable with fans/ air conditioners and dress well i.e. thin airy clothes or layers in case I get hot I can take some off. I also keep water cold in fridge encase. Oddly enough I hate showing skin but sometimes its about being comfortable when warm/ hot wise so I adjusted to wearing tank tops and shorts. In winter I usually stay as warm as possible and wear thick socks too.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
I have had this problem for years, like 20 of them! LOL
The initial belief for me was peri-menapause, but after a total hysterectomy, even now 13yrs later it is still a problem. Hot showers are nice to loosen muscles but I have to rinse in cool water just to regain enough strength to get out. That helps with the after shower sweating also. During colder times I have learned to like fancy scarves. It keeps a breeze from the back and neck and sometimes looks pretty. Other times I just look like a freak but, eh, what can I say.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to stop it but trial and error will help you find tricks that help you have at least some control.
Good luck
Amy
Fortunately, this year, it was 90's most of the time and dry. I WAS IN HEAVEN!
I wonder if living at the equator would be good as the temps would be steady??? LOL
