I got one last Thursday and I had a few symptoms from it by Friday. Talk about achy and grouchy on Friday. Same thing Saturday plus the fatigue was horrible. But by Monday I was back to my usual self. Hope you feel better soon.

I suspect I did one year, but I can't really prove it. That year I also got the worst flu ever, which definitely triggered a flare. (Ugh.)

People without FM can get fugly and flu-ish after their shot, so why not us, too?

I had one last Friday. Went to bed Saturday night feeling pretty terrible. Just generally more "off" than usual. By Sunday night, I was feeling better. I get one every year. My usual response is more pronounced fatigue for a few days. I kind of plan to have some sort of issue and block my calendar for a few days. Feel better soon!

The doctor told me the one I received covers 4 strands. This was my first time ever getting a flu shot. I never get the flu or catch colds. But if I get the flu this year, I won't be getting a flu shot again.

Hi Kimber, did you check to see what kind of cocktail they put in the shot this year? I found out I am sensitive to certain strains related to H1N1 and H1N3. If they have anything related to those in the cocktail I can't have it, it will make me sick as a dog. I already confirmed this with my PCP the year they were having the swine flu issues, she told me fibro patients can be sensitive or straight up not compatible, and doesn't recommend I get any shots related to those vaccines. Of course the following year a stupid nurse just stuck me without telling me what was in it even though I asked her. Then AFTERWARDS she gave me the consent form (for me to sign) which had the breakdown of the cocktail. I was so sick for the next 3 weeks, I really wanted to get that nurse fired. But unfortunately that's how they do things at the VA. They have a habit of treating vets like cattle. Sorry for starting to ramble...

I usually get achy after annual flu shots but for some reason this one hit me harder. I got it on a Friday morning and by Friday evening it felt like a horse kicked my arm. I was more achy and head-achy than usual all weekend, but by Monday it was better.

Still better than getting the flu, I guess. Good luck, it will get better!

Haven't had mine yet this year, but I normally get a bit achy for maybe 24 hours after.

Hubby had his yesterday, he has no Fibro, and he went down like a sack of bricks this morning with the Fugly Fluish feeling.

I have a love/hate relationship with the flu shot. My employer offers them for free. I looks like the clinic nearest to me will be Nov. 3rd. I just don't know whether or not to get it.

I to received the flu shot a few weeks ago and I agree, it does tend to flare up the darn fibro stuff. Hang in there, I hope some good self care gives you some relief.

I am just reading this, and got mine earlier today. I got the common one that covers three strands. It always burns when going in, and I always feel a bit strange right after. My arm is a bit sore, and I have a bit of a sore throat. Could be unrelated though; hubby came home from work today feeling awful and coming down with a head cold. I told him to stay away, as us fibro sufferers know, it causes extreme achey feeling in us. My doctor highly recommends that is with fibromyalgia get the shot every year.

Two Decembers ago, my work had a "get a flu shot or mask" policy: My doctor recommended and gave me HALF a flu shot (was going to have the second one a week later) as I have sensitivities to numerous chemicals and formaldehyde. I ended up having to call an ambulance due to the stress it caused to my liver. I thought it was having a heart attack as the pain was terrible. Needless to, say I did not get the other half. Increased sicknesses and allergies for the next year.

Last December: After discussing options with doctor, community health, work health nurse, and manager, I opted for the flu mist. It DOES contain a LIVE virus but less fillers and chemicals. Sick for 5 weeks with the worst flu ever. 6 allergy attacks at work, almost sick every month, WCB for chemical sensitivities and sickness, missed work, letters for being sick, threat of being fired, massive chronic headaches, increased pain, carrying an epipen and 25 lb weight gain.

Even the thought of having to decide whether to mask or get a shot for my work again in December caused increased anxiety and depression, and then an anxiety attack so bad I called an ambulance, dizziness, forgetfulness, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat, increased pain and insomnia, rashes, and more.

Two weeks ago: My position ended, and I was relieved. I am still employed there technically and can apply for other positions. I am finally starting to relax. Just found out that they are putting the mandatory policy on hold due to it violating our rights. The mask is meant to humiliate and isolate workers.. We had to wear a yellow sticker on our nametag in which we were told it's not to show you received your flu shot, it's to show your compliance!

I honestly will NEVER get another flu shot again and I am extremely pro-active against it. The seniors and other workers got their shot, so how, even if I were a carrier, would they get it? I was more careful in not going to work sick, used proper hand hygiene, got a mega vitamin IV drip, took vitamins etc. than the average visitor or person on the street. I am working on detoxing, cleansing, and chelating all remnants of these toxins and chemicals.
