Hi all I am new to this group I just joined this morning and I am blown away by the amount of support groups on here. I have been suffering badly now with fibro since feb 2014 before that for years I had pain and different problems which was beginning to make me feel I was the biggest hypochondriac in the world, always ill, always different things going on until I was told it was fibro. I also have chronic fatigue syndrome. apart from this as many people who have fibro I have had problems with my periods etc for many years , from the time they started they were immensley painful and I needed to take the pill to calm them down, after years of suffering with ovarian cysts one of which was a choclate cyst, and then, emdometriosis, five years ago, in a gp appointment for  pain in my pelvis again, I had an internal examination and my gp told me my uterus was bulky which made her suspect that I was either five months pregnant (unlikely as I had been sterilised for around 8 years,) or that I had fibroids. she sent me for a ultrasound and none of these things were right, nothing else was said or done until about two years after this, again I was told by a different gp my uterus was bulky, but that constipation would make it feel that way???? so this time i was not sent for a scan. I started to suffer irregular bleeding and the pain was unbelievable even worse that when I had endometriosis at a younger age. after five years a different scan  then revelaed a bulky womb again my gp diagnosed me at last with Adenomyosis, but that a blood test also picked up I had low oestrogen so I was possibly entering the menopause, my mam was young so this didnt surprise me. but I saw a consultant and after years of being messed around by gynae consultants, at last they decided I did need treatment so they put me on 6 months worth of zoladex. this worked for me my periods stopped and so did the pain, eventhough I had menopausal symptoms, however its been 9 months since my last injection and my periods have not returned but I am in so much pain now I feel everyday as if I am going to have a period but its not coming. anyway the reason for posting is I am waiting for a hysterectomy which I can not have keyhole so its abdominal surgery and because I am on so many pain relieving medications, I am petrified that I will be in too much pain, and that they wont be able to control my pain. has anyone else been throught the same and if so how did they manage you? and how did you cope?? many thanks. xx
