Hello everyone, I am new here and I am relatively new to fibromyalgia too. I was diagnosed 10 months ago, but its been within the last month that I've had awful symptoms. I am in the humanitarian sector. Currently in a nice country, but with the language barrier is a bit hard. I wanted to ask if ant of you has problems with their eyes caused by the fibro. Sometimes I have like pain and feel them dry, but yesterday from one eye I just couldn't see well, it was like when your phone's screen breaks and there's a line where colors distort and you cannot focus well. It lasted like half an hour and then back to normal just super sensitive to light and some headache. Has something similar happened to any of you?? It was really scary. I have PTSD which makes it all harder.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

OK, you can have several problems here --- infections, neurological issues such as migraines, an endocrinology issue like Sjogrens --- so get to a really good eye doctor (ophthalmologist, not mere eyeglasses doc) to start narrowing it down. I've never had vision issues associated with *fibro*, whic his neuromuscular. Fibro can occur with or be diagnosed instead of many other issues --- celiac, RA, Sjogren's, hypothryoid, etc etc etc..... ==== but none are directly connected to vision in the way you're describing. Also, that reminds me of my mom's visual issues while she had a brain tumor growing but we didn't know it (long story of itself).
Opthalmologist, neurologist, and after that? I can't think what is best to do. Just don't assume it's fibro! That is literally a *lethal* assumption that some have made. I've been on this board since 2010, and we've actually had a couple of fibro members die in the years b/c they assumed "oh it's fibro". Nope. It wasn't.
I don't want to scare you, but your vision issue could be a lot fo things, and as a bionerd? Yeah. I gotta say.... time for the docs. PSTD and all.
Puma support.
I second Leo. You need to be seen by an Opthalmologist. What you describe *sounds* like an ocular migraine but I am not a doctor. The dryness is a separate symptom which should also be mentioned and explored. it is not uncommon to have multiple underlying health issues along with Fibromyalgia. Go and see a professional.
Get a copy of "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" which is available on Amazon. It is a good go-to reference to have on hand. It will give you a comprehensive overview of this complex neuro-muscular disorder and a lot of ways to try and manage it.
Take care.
