I don't think your doctor is correct in her theory that people with Fibromyalgia either already have Lupus or go on to develop it. That is one of the crazier theories that I've heard recently. It is possible to have Fibromyalgia and Lupus or another autoimmune disease. Most people with Fibromyalgia do not go on to develop Lupus.

I have fatty liver disease from out of no where. I don't drink, do drugs or anything else. It is an ongoing problem as the liver is typically the most robust organ in the body. No one seems to know why I have this problem. I'm supposed to limit my fat intake and now my meds are being examined as a possible source of the problem. I definitely do not have Lupus either.

All I can tell you is to get the bloodwork done and see what the results show. You may want to have an ultrasound done to see if it shows any fatty deposits on your liver. Good luck to you and keep in touch.

I've been battling this beast for over 15 years and my liver is checked regularly because of my meds. No issues.

Lupus isn't a word to be thrown around lightly. It killed two people in my extended family.

I hope you get better information when you get your additional testing.

I have RA Rheumatoid Arthritis with Lupus markers. Which is Dr code for they think I have RA, but at some point they may decide I have both, or just lupus. It is called a working diagnosis. This is very common because RA and Lupus are clinical diagnosis, another dr speak meaning there is no positive test. So having fatty liver, which is not really a marker, is unlikely to mean you have lupus. If you do not drink and are not overweight, it would be strange is you really had fatty liver. My Dad was told he has this, but further investigation showed that he didn't. There may be other things on your blood work that are pointing her in the lupus direction. So do some more blood work and see what that shows.
That all being said both RA and lupus are auto-immune diseases and people who have them, for unknown reasons are likely to have fibro. I also have Fibro. If you are concerned, look at the RA and lupus support groups on DS and see if what they talk about applies to you. Hope everything turns out normal for you!

My best friend has lupus and has now developed fibromyalgia but thats what i have been told and read , that lupus can cause fibro due to the physical and emotional strain on your body and that they are sayin fibro can be caused frm severe stress of some sort. i had tests done a couple months back and the MA was reading my test results and she said my liver was slightly off but nothing big which is why my dr didnt even mention it however its been freaking me out ever since lol.. My mother gets fatty deposits in dofferent organs i wanna say 2 different organs dont remeber if her liver was one but she had gone for some tests and they were concerned because they found masses in two different spots and turned out to be fat , shes also going through something right now she thinks she may have fibro waiting to go to her dr.
