And that's the easy way Monday check-in. I'm swmaped. In-laws were here yesterday and FIL grilled me on my unemployment status. As in, I'm unempmloyed, and how dare I have that status. Hubby wasn't here when they arrived adn so I had to field his parents solo. Thank God his brother was working and his sister is in another time zone. I can't handle large doses of well-meant derision...
Blessings and health, all!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Leo, your in-laws. Oh my word. Don't they realize your health would not warrant working? I'm amazed. What did your hubby say? Take it easy on yourself today.
Here I am, the day before my flight. I woke up this morning and thought today was the day. I was all confused. I woke up at 3:30....when we have to leave tomorrow. Ugh...scared me.
I have to take the SUV in today. They have 2 weeks to fix the thing. It had better be fixed this time. Daughter will be taking me home. We did not get coffee the other day, so we are going out this afternoon. I have banking to do. And a couple of loads of laundry to fold. And that is my day.
Hope I wake up at 2:30 instead of 3:30 tomorrow morning. Later............
Great pics! I'm sorry to hear that your FIL was such an @)$#hole. First, and most importantly, what you are doing is really none of his business. I say flip him off and move on.
ida,
I've done that before...woke up in a panic thinking I had to do something and have the wrong day. Not a great feeling! I hope your day goes good for you today..have a cup of coffee for me too!
I'm recovering, slowly but more or less surely. Had PT on Friday and got ummm permission? to do more stuff...bend my hip/knee a little further, work it a little harder, lay on my stomach and do some stretches. Odd feeling to lay on my stomach for the first time in 7 weeks. I loved the feeling of accomplishment..moving forward. Everything was good until I had to deal with my bro yesterday...which is a longggg story for another time. Lets just say it was a "flip off and move on" moment.
Hope you all find some peace in this hectic world,
Kel
Ida, I hate waking like that, in a panic. Sets my heart to racing. I hope the SUV gets fixed finally. I hate having car trouble. Enjoy the coffee date.
Kel, good news that you're doing so well. Keep up the good work. I agree that sometimes with people it's just a flip off and move on. Now I'll flip off where they can't see, but it still gives me the satisfaction.
Start of another long week. I'm really considering how I should handle art classes this year. Cut back? Add more? I'm restructuring the classes some. I need to decide soon.
I woke to a headache, off of a weird dream. But I have to get moving and start the day.
I'm tired today. Let this be a lesson that drinking a bottle of cola before bed WILL, in fact, keep you up... Silly me... I didn't get to sleep until 2 am then I had restless arms, so that took another half an hour, then I kept getting up to use the washroom... Was not a great night.
Leo, I had my MIL just point blank start asking us questions about our finances one day shortly after we were married. And of course I took to the offense. I was totally blind sided by her questions. And my brother is "you always should be working" kind of guy. Just wired that way. And when his wife was out of a job a few times, they were on the brink of divorce. I like Kel's advice, just a flip em off and move on.
Honestly at this point in my life, I'd probably would have just sat there in silence blinking until I could utter the words (calmly) that I can't believe that they would interject themselves in that manner w/out some sort of background as to why.
BTW, I read your post about your neighbors. LOL. I would have said to him that there is only one way to find out what will happen right? Natural selection's score is greater than humanity.
Ida, eeks! I hate waking up in a panic. Lately, I've been so confined (to the house- anxiety) that I have to seriously think about what day it is. Last night for a moment I thought it was Monday night already.
Hope the SUV gets fixed properly this time around. And enjoy that coffee with your daughter today.
Praying for a safe and fun trip for you this week.
Kel, I love hearing the good news you have of making progress after the surgery. Little by little, right? Sorry your brother was a butt. Mine can be sometimes also. Love him dearly but he can be a buttwad sometimes.
Bobbii, I think my MIL is your MIL's twin! Oh goodness it drives me crazy sometimes. It's not a do you want this, but a here you can have it with a big old shove as she runs away. I pray I'm never like that when I get older.
Hope you find the right rhythm for your art class you are planning. I'm thinking of adding on painting for the boys this year. I think it will go as simple as nailing jello to a wall. Fun times! LOL.
CanadianQ,
I bet that cola tasted so good going down though, right? What about caffiene free as a bedtime treat? Are those any good? I'm a real McCoy kind of girl or nuthing at all.
Had a busy weekend here. Run here run there. Sit and sit and sit in the car because my anxiety was all out of whack, but I wanted and made myself get out.
We also started looking at some houses yesterday. Went to an open house and I swear it had a bazillion stairs that were like climbing a ladder almost. Dang near a 90 degree climb. Got to the top and realized just how out of shape I am.
The house had a stunning yard though. Just under an acre, lots of tree and neighbors were a decent distance away. Staging was cute though. But a firm NOPE on the stairs. I wonder if there is a home rating system for people with chronic pain? Kinda like how homes have a walkscore these days (as to what is in your area near by w/in walking distance). They should have a chronic pain score also. (but there I go thinking again, LOL)
I'm off to go and get some more laundry done. I also have the itch to start my fall cleaning. Maybe it's because I've walked through other homes and now see all the things I hate highlighted here......ugh.
ida, I hate when I do that on the weekend thinking it's a work day. I hope they figure your car out this time, and that you have fun at Starbucks with your daughter. You deserve some cheer, I hope your vacation goes super great.
kel, I wish the people in our lives could be a little nicer. How do society get so bad about speaking their mind at the expense of others. I'm glad you can just flip him off and move on. I hold onto that crap, and then never forget it. I would be fine if I never spoke to my brother again from things he has said to me about my fibro and marriage. Unfortunately, I have to see him to see his kids. Keep pampering yourself and doing only what the PT says. I'm glad your making progress.
CQ, yikes, you had a very bad night. I bet tonight will be much better for you. I hope your pain is under control today.
My pain is very high in my legs and feet, it was so bad all weekend I couldn't get in a good mood. At least today I get to sit at my desk, but it's my late night to watch Karate after work. I hate rushing in the evening, especially when I hurt so much. I'm trying to shut my brain and emotions off, I'm not in a good place mentally or physically, wish me luck.
I hope everyone has a good day.
I am sorry that your FIL was so pushy. My former mother in law was actually discovered going through our filing cabinet looking at our financial records. Her excuse was "we're family so its OK." Not. She was removed from our home. After that, I made a point of putting everything away before the in laws came over because if there was even a piece of mail out, they'd pick it up and read it. Its not like you've had much spare time in the past year to work on much of anything other than trying to hold it together. He needs to butt out. When you find your balance, maybe work will be an option.
I'm a bit groggy at the moment. I'm going to find my ear plugs, invent some new cuss words and start a load of laundry. I'll check back later when I'm not so distracted by that infernal noise in front of my house. Hugs to everyone!
Leo -- No words. Lots of empathy. I was under the impression you currently were not working due to disability? (BTW, I cannot stand that word. Everyone is able to do somethig well, despite other challenges.)
So interesting things happening here. I rode over an hour down to the inner city to the HUGE neurology dept. They say that my visual symptoms are caused by my migraines (there is a huge multi-word name for it) and that they suspect my slurred speech and other symptoms are also caused by this. Even the pain, which was dx'd as Fibro, can also be a symptom. I am apparently far out on the fringes of the spectrum of migraine severity. Add on to this that nothing has ever really helped prevent or abort the headaches and I am one of those cases that can't be assisted much by medicine. They suggest that I be under treatment by a Headache Specialist, so that as these symptoms evolve/change I can be seen and evaluated, not forwarded to multiple specialists.
Unfortunately they are so far from me they say that cannot refer me to a local headache clinic. They say my primary care doc can do it. However, she insists that anyone who is "seeing things" is psychiatrically disturbed and seems to only refer me to a local psych clinic! (This is even after the eye doctor was evaluating for eye disease and refering me to neuro opthomolgy.) So, off to face the music and see if Ican get a referral.
Ida I hate waking up and thinking I am late for something. I hope you can sleep tonight. It sounds like you have a busy day before the trip. I hope you can find some time to rest too.
Kel I am glad that you are continuing to improve. I tend to OCD over things people say and wouldn't be able to just let it go. Good for you.
Bobbii I hope that you can adjust your schedule so that it isn't so hard on you.
Wonder I hate house hunting. All those stairs just kill me. I hope that your anxiety settles enough for you to enjoy your day.
Twins gentle hugs and prayers for you today.
Fantod I hope that you can find a way to drown out the noise. I am such a light sleeper that anything wakes me.
Puppymom I hope you can do some research to find a specialist that you can take the info to your doctor. Maybe if you find the specialist your doctor can find it in herself to just write the referral. I hate when doctors are that lazy.
I need to do some housekeeping today and maybe run to the store. Not sure if I will do it. I have been fighting migraines all weekend. Yesterday it was so bad that I had dry heaves and light sensitivity. I love the way the living room is laid out now. It looks so big. I hope you all have a good day.
Leo, holy moly. None of their business! I'm with Kel on this one. Much sympathies...oy. I hope your hair is better by now.
I'm lucky most of my in-laws are nice people. However, my FIL only likes to talk about money and once got on my case about using the GI Bill saying it's a "socialist program and everyone should pay their own way" Boy, I nearly knocked the old man's head off. Most who join the military do it for the college funds. If he doesn't think getting shot at and blown up is paying their way, then he's delusional! >:(. Luckily my MIL apologized for him.
Yesterday was a sunny but extra windy day (at least it wasn't steamy hot). I wanted to go to the beach, but remembered last week when we went on a windy day and how I got beat up by the wind and sand and decided I'll hold off an extra day.
I also had twingy nerve pain in my R leg that bothered me a lot in church causing me to squirm the whole time, so I ended up sitting around the house instead. Boy, how useless and unproductive I felt. Ok, I did water some of the garden. I don't feel good about myself unless I've done at least one thing. For example, the other day I put the hose on the skinny setting and blasted all the crab spiders & webs out from the underside of the porch's roof. I also blasted away all their egg sacks (there were hundreds of them). You should google "crab spiders" those things are invincible due to their hard shell. And because the porch looked good, I felt good. :) Image: http://campus.albion.edu/florida08/files/2008/03/crab-spider.jpg
Gonna go across the street to the stables this AM because their avocado trees are dropping mega huge yummy avos. Then we're gonna try and hit the beach and be back in time for my acupuncture appt.
Back in a sec.
Sent a short, but heart-felt apology card to my son and his wife saying how I regret having made mistakes as a mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. I left the "door open."
Shakota I think you did the best thing you could do with your son. I pray that he and the family will see that you are trying.
Blue I agree with you that what you do or don't do is none of their business. You paid your time and service and if he doesn't see that then maybe it would be best not to talk to him at all.
Leo huge hugs and peace for you. I totally agree with you.
Ida, waking up on the wrong day at the wrong time in a panic sure can be scary. I hope your day has gotten better. Also that the SUV will be fixed.
Glad PT is going forward for you, Kel *clapping*. You'll be back to your old self before you know it :). Btw, I should take your advice more often about flipping a nosy person off and moving on. I got so bent out of shape the other week at my friend for lecturing me non-stop. Should have just given her the bird, called a taxi and left.
Bobbii, sorry about the headache, hope it's gone already. I hope you can make your schedule out to be easier on you, however you can do that. I would like to see you in less pain.
CQ, lol... yeah no colas before bed. Learned about that one too. I can't even do the caffeine free ones because the sugar keeps me up too. My rule is nothing too buzzy or too sweet after 4 pm LOL
Wonder, exciting to look at properties! Totally feel yah on the stairs. When we were looking for rentals last year during our move to Maui, we looked at about 30 places. Had to cross off stairs, had to have a walk in shower for mom, had to have safe flooring for mom (no split / uneven levels, no steps going out / in to the house and so on), no steep driveway, space for 2 vehicles. It was a pain in the butt. A home rating system for chronic pain / elderly would have made things WAY easier! Wish I someone could come up with that :)
Twin.... aww.... it's understandable that you feel lousy for feeling lousy. I wish I could take your pain away and give you a break. That stinks. Can anyone else get the girls to karate night?
Fantod, after the kid zipped up and down on our street on a dirt bike for 3 days straight, I have some cuss words you can borrow (man, I had to stop myself from throwing tacks out there). Hope the construction guys hurry up so your peace returns.
Puppy, sorry DS locked you out. Glad you're back after changing your PW. I'm not surprised about your migraine symptoms. After all, it took drs how many years to figure out my visual problems were NOT psych related and were in fact migraines. Dumb idiots. I;m so relieved for you that someone at least is on to something. I hope they can find a way to get you to a headache specialist or maybe bring one there? I don't know how it works (in Hawaii we have a different system because we're a bunch of islands, docs often island hop).
Autumn, fighting migraines all week doesn't sound fun at all. For me my migraines are often triggered when I overdo it or have been stressed out. I hope you can find something relaxing to do instead of do, do, do.
Angela, sorry your day started out so rough and hope it gets easier on you. That's tough news about Peg... will be thinking of her. Sending hugs to you, Peg and her family.
