After 7 years of fibro (I'm 30), I recently feel my symptoms progressing & I'm having new ones like joint pain/inflammation, itchiness/mild rash on & off, digestive upset, and an increase in episodes of brain fog that come on suddenly and make me feel drunk. I saw a nutritionist to rule out food sensitivies so Im off gluten/dairy to see if that helps (Neg for celiac.)
I see my PCP tomorrow and I'm worried. I just feel there's something else going on & these Drs don't always investigate thoroughly.
I keep coming back to ME/CFS, MS, & Lyme. I've tested neg for MS (brain MRI) & Lyme in the past, but just found out the Lyme can give a false neg 30-50% of time & not everyone gets the bullseye. I came across an article by a dr who believes many ppl have Lyme but have been misdiagnosed w fibro or have both. I dont recall even being bitten by a tick, but I know I had one on me as a child & i do live in a Lyme endemic area. Does anyone have any experience w/ these conditions or been dxd w/ one in addition to their fibro? Thanks for any input.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your doctor should order a complete blood panel including Thyroid. Be sure that you tell them all of your symptoms at the risk of sounding like a hypochondriac. They can't help you if you hold back information.
I'm sorry that you are dealing with additional symptoms. I hope that your doctor will listen and be able to diagnose the issue. Take care.
I had a friend years ago who had chemical sensitivities who finally died. Who knows what kinds of things are in our food, air, water at this point in time. We are complicated creatures and there are many places where things can go wrong in our bodies.
Best wishes and hopes for an improvement in your condition and a correct diagnosis.
Thanks for the advice I appreciate it all & hope I'll have some answers soon.
Definitely take the advice from all of the above, about getting more testing and not holding back. It's vital the docs know everything, and that you document and journal things. Photograph rashes, for example. (Done that, too.) Sometimes it helps them tos ee how it progresses as much as to see what it is at the moment.
As for Lyme: A great number of people are infected with tick-carried diseases that go nowhere, lead to nothing, and the data on Lyme-FM is, from a hard-core nerd's POV (mine), suspect at best. Most people who push a "oh most FMers have this" are usually also pushing their own miracle cure or treatment or (fill in blank snake oil routine, which is sometimes that they want attention and credit in a publish-perish world). Whether they say Lyme, EBV or whatever. If repeated bloodwork continues to show negative, and uses more than one kind of assay, you can relax about the virus in question.
The truth is, diseases can also take time to *develop* a recognizable set of symptoms *and* signs. (Symptoms: what we experience. Signs: What they can find on tests or scans.) So you could have something other than FM, or in addition o FM, and it would probably be smart to keep your mind open, and to let the docs know your mind is open, okay? The second they decide you dx'd yourself off the internet or Dr Oz, they shut down.
Good luck, and keep us posted, okay?
