Hi Everyone, The weather here in northern CA has been cold and stormy since Thanksgiving. For the last 2 weeks or so, my body pains are much worse! I seem to have to do body stretches NON STOP, then I only get about 10% relief. I have to spend about 2 hr stretching at night before bed, then wake up with stiffness and pain all over again; need to do more stretches in the morning, then late for work, etc.
I finally had to take a muscle relaxant.
Do you notice your body aches/muscle pains become worse in cold/damp weather? What do you do for relief?

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Another tip, to help during there barometric issues in the weather patterns, you can follow an 'arthritic' diet. There are foods known to cause more pain than others by increasing the tiniest amounts of inflammation. By eating more arthritic friendly foods, you can alter the amount of pain you feel. For example, if I know a storm is going to be rolling in later in the week, I stock up on broccoli. By eating broccoli 3x/week, I can reduce that extra pain. I also avoid certain foods during that time also.
Thank you for all your advice! My heating bill has increased more than 3 fold this last month! I will try some of your tips.
Before bed every night, I already rotate using these creams on my neck, lower back and hands: arnica cream, Penetrex, Blu Emu cream. But I wake up still stiff. (I think these creams help my hands though--I haven't had tendonitis on my hands since using them every night.)
Wonderbaby: That website page is not found anymore. But I found some other sites. Thanks for the tip on searching under "arthritis weather".
Bluesky: Did you find another place to live? (I haven't kept up with you for a while.)
