How much good do you get from your meds such as Neurontin? I know when I take it or Baclofen I usually feel sleepy or dizzy about 2 hours later. So I guess it does some good. As long as I am asleep I don't feel the pain. But I don't see much progress if I am awake. Is this the way these meds are supposed to work?
I can see that I need to increase the meds now. I've fought this for a long time. I hate taking medicine and I really don't like to take more than necessary. But things are getting worse and I can see why my rheumy wanted me to increase the Neurontin. So far I haven't done it. I hate being drugged all day and night.
So has anyone found one good med that actually works??

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. My usual drug cocktail is 2.5 mg methadone and 5 mg baclofen. This often damps down the pain and stiffness so that I can continue being somewhat productive after 1pm or so.
However, at times, this doesn't cut it. The only other weapon I have is some medical marijuana for extreme stiffness. This usually works well.
The purpose of pain management is to restore some quality of life to the patient, not remove the pain entirely. If you are not well hydrated with water (not coffee, pop etc) your meds will bother you a lot more.
A key point to remember is that the longer a chronic pain cycle continues, the harder it becomes to manage or stop. You need to be proactive about your care/medications and do whatever you can to have effective pain management. Take care.
