My hands hurt from time to time, even when I'm not doing anything. I already take a whole lot of meds, but that doesn't seem to help. Sometimes I'll soak my hands in a bowl of hot water and that relieves it somewhat.

yes, my hands hurt really really bad. i thought the carpal tunnel test would show a lot of nerve damage but it didn't. i can't tolerate prednisone so haven't been taking anything to deal w/inflammation lately.

Oh yes, I have this.

I can suddenly feel as though I have sprained some part of my hands....no apparent reason....it will last a day or so and then go away as suddenly as it appears.

Other times, My palms hurt. My family think I am nuts and it is hard to explain to them, but suddenly it happens.

I have hand and wrist braces for these times. The support seems to help sometimes. I also have ice packs on the ready at all times

D - I have wrist braces, but are there braces of some sort for hands that include fingers?

Yes mine get crazy sore too sometimes. The anti inflammants help with that. If you can tolerate muscle relaxers perhaps ask your doctor for them. They may reduce the pain.

Those support braces leave my hands so weak. I wore them for two nights, and the following mornings my hands were useless all day long.

I've been icing my wrists on and off all day. I also have Raynaud's so I can't ice my hands. Oddly, getting my nails done helps - the massage is nice, I just tell them to be gentle. If you have a Container Store nearby, the grips for shopping bags are wonderful.

My hands, arms, and fingers can get a odd feeling as if they are stuffed (as if swollen when they are not) or as I say the popeye effect. I feel as if I have to really focus hard to do a simple task like folding a dish cloth or laundry.

Once I could not open my fingers from the palm of my hand, after a trip tp ER and Ultra sounds on most of my arteries the found of course nothing...after a bit of time I was able to open my fist the mapping on my arm was really almost cool looking (sure I can say that now).

So milily the functional trouble is there with me, but the pain is not as bad as it sounds with your issue.

And yes emg's and every test that modern medicine and good insurance was done without a cause to be found. The 8 inch by three inch mass/lump we often get on the inside of my left arm that is pushing down causing Ulnar nerve entrapment doesn't help much either...

My hands hurt constantly, fingers achy and tight. I have a top loader washer and when I reach in I bump my hands on the center and I want to cry. It sometimes breaks the skin, Also when washing dishes. ICE! Fingers are very sensitive to hot and cold. I rarely use the computer anymore.

I've had X-rays to rule out arthritis because it feels at though there are shards of glass in between my knuckles.

They often feel sprained. And I do trigger my tendionitis in my Right Dequeverians tendon often. I've had surgery there to help release it as well.

My feet are the same. I often feel as though they are broken or severely sprained and just as fast as it comes on, it goes away.

Wanted to reply as I have this lately and after 20 some years of fibro, chronic fatigue, epstein barr, diabetes, well, you get the picture, my hands hurt so bad anymore, I cannot write, and sometimes cannot type! But, I have found something I never dreamed would work until I ws just trying to find anything for relief, as I hurt everywhere, but my tens machine has worked wonders when my hands and arms hurt. I attach it to my arms around between my elbows and wrists, for a little while, and it does wonders, just one of my things that work you may want to try. I have been in a constant flare for around a month now, so it must be the "norm" for us right now.,...

I use Voltaren gel on my hands and forearms. It's a topical ointment that seems to relieve a lot of my pains. I do get awfully tired of not feeling well, ever!! The Pilates class has helped me with the back pain, and the yoga. This is a very nasty disease and I hope to see a cure before my life is over.

The braces I have cover my wrists and hands up to the base of my fingers. I got it at the local drug store

Ok, good. I thought I was losing it. My hands go through days where they seem swollen and sore. I can hardly make a fist. Then in a few days, it goes away. I have pain in my wrists too. I bought a brace and it does help.
Otherwise there is a "glove" type item that people who knit and crochet wear sometimes. It kind of keeps the heat in and helps the hands. I have one but I hardly ever use it. It makes me feel like it is choking my hand. Dumb I know, but that is the only way to describe the feeling.

My hands hurt as well and I find applying heat helps to relieve the pain a little. I find a good hot shower is good
