My heart goes out to you and your family. You are in my thoughts and my prayers. How scary. I can't imagine how frightening that would be to wake up to your daughter having a seizure. Of course your mind is racing, it's hard not to.

I know from experience that one of the hardest things mothers ever have to do is WAIT to hear if their child has a serious medical condition. For two awful weeks years ago I waited to find out if my son had cancer (he didn't but has a serious liver condition) and it was the longest two weeks of my life. He had to have a surgical biopsy and when they called from the OR to say "no cancer" I think I breathed for the first time in two weeks.

Hang in there - let us support you - I hope you have friends and family close by who can support you as well.

Thank you all VERY much. I find I am nervous about her sleeping... and when she was in the bath I was on heightened alert.

My oldest son was 4 when he had a febrile seizure. We were on a trip to FL and he wasn't feeling well... I thought he'd do well to dip into the ocean water... Thank GOD my husband closely accompanied the kids when they went wading for the first time because my son's temp must have plummetted and he seized right there in the water. My husband had to fish him out from under water!! Imagine... ugh.

Honey, I am so sorry to hear that! Hopefully it is just a fluke. Good for you to stay on top of it and getting her right to the doc is the best thing you could have done. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know when anything at all happens to my kids it makes me a mess. I have never had to deal with anything that potentially serious. keep your head clear and get as much rest as you can! You will be no good to anyone if you are exhausted and foggy. Keep us posted!

Narey, hon, I know how you feel from the other side. My mom had two kids, both of us had epilepsy, and I saw my sister's seizures, it was terrifying! Even knowing it was "just" her epilepsy didn't help. As for me, I was dx'd with epilepsy at 19. (Grand mals, now called tonic-clonic, but grand mal is Latin for BIG BAD and that's much more descriptive IMO!) Any questions, shoot me a message, OK?

Don't play worst case scenario, take a lot of deep breaths, and don't worry, okay? I'm praying for you and your daughter!

My son started having seizures at age 16. It is very frightening. He has had probably 5 or 6 and is now 21. The only excuse or reason for his seizures we were ever give was head trauma from car & atv accidents he had been in. I dont really feel as though that is the reason or if that's all they could figure out but my prayers are with you. It is a parents worst nightmare watching your child having a seizure and there is not one thing you can do to stop it. My prayers are with you. I hope you get your answers.
