Hi Everyone,


I haven't been on this forum for a while. I hope everyone is doing better!


Have any of you caught Covid, esp Long Covid?


I had managed to avoid it for four years, then I caught it from an inconsiderate friend last month. I took Paxlovid within three days, and was over with the acute flu-like symptoms in about a week.


However, it messed up my heart.  Now I have tachycardia and the cardiologist is still evaluating. Also, if my chronic fatigue was bad before, it is even worse now. I have a hard time doing the most basic errands and chores. Even going down two stories of stairs gets my heart beating too fast. Very debilitating and depressing!


 I'm wondering if any of you had such experience with Covid. Any words of hope?

I got Covid the first time very early in the pandemic from my parents…which is also how I learned they’re anti mask. I didn’t really have the tachycardia but I had very severe fatigue after. It’s gotten better over the years, but hasn’t gone away completely. Certain things smell and taste different since then too, even though I didn’t lose my sense of smell that time. I had to go back to work once I was past the 10 days of quarantine because we were really busy with doing everything curbside; I’m sure that didn’t help matters but it’s impossible to say if actually resting would have made the fatigue better.

Fibromyalgia is like long Covid even before Covid existed. Now it is double the misery.

At least, with long Covid becoming a “ critical mass”, the medical society is finally starting to take us—people with chronic fatigue syndrome—seriously.

I had covid twice. Once at the start of the pandemic, and the second time when Omicron was going around. The first time I got it, I had a 6-week migraine and paralyzing fatigue. No fever.

The second time I got it, my asmtha flared for like 2 months, I lost my taste for about 3 days, and I had a mild runny nose for a few days. No fever. I did get on steroids to reduce the asthma, though. No tachycardia in either instances.

I heard covid can cause heart problems. I also heard the vaccine can cause it, too, being it is made from the covid virus. Covid gave my mom a dozen pulmonary emboli. She is ok, but it took her like a year to recover from it.

My sister (no Fibromyalgia) had COVID, RSV and pneumonia all at once this year. She threw a clot from COVID and needed a stent. Technically still in heart failure. Going to cardiac rehab and still suffering from intense fatigue. Her cardiologist says it will be at least 6 months for recovery..
