Along with Fibromyalgia I have a small fracture in my L5 vertebrae, which causes a great deal of pain. I am now dealing with a new pain management clinic, and yesterday I saw a doctor that specializes in injection therapy. He recommended that we do some Cortisone injections into my lower back right down to the joint (can't remember which joint). They use an ultrasound while they do the injection to ensure they are in the right spot. I must say, I am glad I didn't look at the needles before the injection, because they were 4 inches long! I received a total of 4 deep injections, and it was rather unpleasant. I am told I can expect to feel some relief in 3 to 4 days, at the moment I am extremely sore deep down where the needles were. As long as I get some relief it will all be worth it. I shall let you know how I feel in a few days.

Good luck!I don't want to freak you out because this isn't a typical reaction, I recently had a steroid injection in my hip, which only made the pain worse for 2.5 weeks. It never gave me any relief; after the couple weeks it just went back to normal and stayed there. Hope it makes you feel better :)
