A month ago I found out from my doctor that I have hyperthyroidism.
On top of the fibro and they say I may be boarder line diabetic. I don't eat a lot of sugar or a lot of fast food or junk food. I weight only 130 pounds. I lost 20 in one month last year. I was 150. But anyway do you guys think it could be just my fibro messing with other things in my body.

The short answer is "no." Fibromyalgia is a disorder of the central nervous system. However, it is very common for people with Fibromyalgia to have underlying medical issues. Most of us are equally as frustrated with that as we are with having Fibromyalgia. Take care.

BTW - If you don't have a copy of the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies", I highly recommend it. That is our go-to book for the board. It will give you a comprehensive overview of this complex illness and a lot of ways to try and manage it. And, the book is great as an educational tool for friends and family. You can purchase it on Amazon. Take care.

From what I understand, thyroid conditions can be associated with certain types of diabetes. Hyperthyroidism will cause you to lose weight. And both can occur concurrently with fibro, but fibro wouldn't cause them. More than likely the other way around. Assuming you had a full work up, hopefully your medical providers are sharing these findings to give you a comprehensive overall treatment plan. If you have concerns, have you thought of a second opinion? Both conditions should be taken seriously, and although not great news, they are treatable. My prayers go with you.
