I have a big problem with this. I have a chiropractor and have no problem with that. What I do have an issue with is anyone interfering with a treatment plan that more or less works. There are too many professionals out there who have jumped on the Fibromyalgia band wagon claiming to be specialists. I would be extremely wary if I were you. Take care.

This guy is no Christian. Chiros cannot do anything for fibromyalgia except take your money. They "specialize" because people in pain are vulnerable.

They are great for spinal issues but if what he told you about your spine was true you'd be in too much pain to walk. He wants you to change docs because yours will tell you the truth.

And with all respect to those who truly follow the teachings of Christ, its also become very lucrative to call yourself a Christian because people will trust someone easier and longer before they smell the rat that they are.

chiros do nothing that relates to neuromuscular conditions in my experience. I loved my chiro but for other problem entirely, and have not seen one for years because what they do will worsen my postaccident trauma.

Smells fishy to me, stick to docs you know.... chiros should NOT be making MEDICAL recommendations like that.

Interesting discussion. Following too many pain-filled sleepless nights, I went with a friend to a chiropractic office office where massage is also done. I've had 8 treatments of each, but I can't say I feel much if any improvement. Has anyone had Relief from Fibro symptoms from a chiropractor?

Thanks for all of the replies. I found a couple of reviews about him after searching for quite sometime. He is not to be trusted and refuses to bill insurance. I found that the few people who put a review down said he messed them up more than he helped. Your right Leo It sounds a little too fishy! I don't want to rule out chiro work but not with this one!!

I tried a couple of chiropractors who seemed very sincere. I gave them a run, since my insurance paid for it. But neither one did me a bit of good. They seemed to really believe they could help me. Sometimes I even agree to make them feel better. I've had much better help from homeopathy, accupuncture and massage. Even with those there are good practitioners and one's who just don't seem to have the skills, however much they are sincere and sincerely believe they can help. I will and have tried A LOT of different things, but if they don't help in a reasonable amount of time--I'm out of there. But a chiropracter who tells you to get another doctor on your first appointment--that would set off my radar.

I love my chiro. and my Rheumy insisits that I have one as he has often found all my ribs out of place.

My chrio is in to exercise and supplements so he is a great resource on the vitimins that I use. He also has me on a individualized exercise program that he fells will help me, I find that it is to strenuous for me just now I'm hoping to work up to what he wants.

I guess you just have to find one that works well with your team.

I found a local chiro who is very gentle and works with stretching and relaxing my spine muscles where I have so much tension and pain. He also does not charge more that what my insurance will cover with my copay. I saw a significant pain reduction while seeing him, but cannot afford the once a week appointments, which come to about $140 a month with my insurance. So I do believe, for certain things they can be very helpful, although it is an expensive type of therapy.

There was a neurologist who insisted that I go only to his chiropractor for a "special" treatment. Anything my insurance would not cover I would be responsible to pay. I declined because no one could tell me how much would be covered by insurance and it sounded very experimental. The same neuro wanted me to have a procedure done that he assured me was cutting edge but not experimental. Unknown to him I have relatives that work in that area of medicine and asked them about the procedure. They asked around and no one in their practice had ever heard of it! So I called my insurance to see if it would be covered. Not only does my insurance consider it experimental, the out of pocket cost STARTS at $10,000!!! Oh, and a huge number of patients actually lose any ability to walk after the procedure, so I suppose -- even though I hobble a lot of days -- it's good I did my research! Sorry if this seems like a thread "highjack" but your experience sounded very much like mine, just a different specialty!

I tried a chiropractor for my neck that seems to flare up more than my other trigger points. I was left much worse off from him than before I started. I could not even turn my neck to the side after his treatments. I feel that the jerking motions that they make to try to align you is too much. Gentle stretching is a much better option for our tender muscles.

As some others stated, I would be very leary of him especially when he said you should go to another doctor. It is good that you checked him out before you made a switch.

Please be careful. The level of training Chiropractors have doesn't even come close to that of M.D.'s. And the fact that he wants you to change drs is of great concern. The fact that he is telling you what medical treatment is right for you and what isn't is of more concern. Chiropractors may be of help with certain things, but fibro isn't one of them. The discs being out of place, if they really are, has nothing to do with fibro.

Someone saying they're a Christian, doesn't make them one. And the Bible says "thou shall not steal." When someone takes your money and lies to you about what they're doing for it, I view that as stealing.

I've known many drs in my 60 yrs, some have been Christians and some haven't. But, drs are like anyone else who is a Christian, you can tell by the way they treat others if they are a Christian or if they aren't. I'm not saying they are prefect or that they don't make mistakes or have bad days. But, it is just something you can tell without them telling you, Know what I mean ?
