I lay awake every night until 1 or 2am.
But during the day I can lay down and be asleep within 5min. Then between 3-5pm, I am soo tired I actually feel sick if I don't lay down.
My hubby is sure all I need to do is stay up all day until my system readjusts. But so far no luck. I just spend the afternoon, deep breathing and trying not to sleep.
Tonight I'm going to try ZzzQuil to see if I can sleep before midnight.
All ideas are welcome.
Thanks SG

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Even with medication, getting decent sleep with Fibromayalgia (FMS) is not a perfect science. There is no resetting the clock by staying up all day either. FMS is chronic and requires a great deal of rest. Nap whenever you feel the need and get some medication to help you sleep properly. Take care.
People have been trying to "reset" me for years but for as long as I can remember I've been a night owl and had a hard time getting up in the morning. My perfect job - at least in terms of schedule - was the one that started at 4:00 p.m. and ended at midnight.
I have other sleep issues now related to fibromyalgia, but my natural cycle still keeps me up until after midnight unless I force it with medication. Rather than "force" my cycle to be different, I take the medication so that I'll fall asleep at something resembling my "normal" time that's been with me for at least my adult life.
I agree with Fantod that you should rest when you feel the need. One of the things I've learned that I feel is really important, for basic good health and for management of fibromyalgia, is to listen to my body.
It is just that all the information I read says we need 3 things.
1. Good Nutrition
2. Meditation/excersize
3. Good Sleep
I've been juicing and following a modified Gerson's therapy for almost 18 months now.
I eat no processed foods, cooking everything from scratch with local foods. Gardening & canning when my energy allows. This last flare has slowed down my yoga, meditation, & exercising.
My sleep is the last piece I need to learn to improve. I have seen the top Sleep Dr in my area, and had 3 sleep studies in the last 5yrs. I use a CPAP faithfully. But still am exhausted when I wake up. The dr's have given me Provigil, Nuvigil, and Adderall to try and help. Each helps a little but the backlash is to great - it outways any energy I get. I use them in case of emergency, & plan for the following flare.
This laying awake until 1am is a recent development. Kinda feels like my sleep cycle has changed.
It's just so frustrating to not be able to sleep when I should and sleep easily at anyother time.
Thanks for your help.

I think most people with fibro require something to help them sleep. The ZzzQuil may do the trick for you. If not, I'd talk to your doctor about something.
Best of luck to you!

I have had to have some type of sleeping help for the last 20 years, long before I was dxed with this. The xanax gets me to go to sleep but it is the amitriptlene that keeps me asleep. We just found this combo about 6 weeks ago and it has been a God-send Maybe yyou can talk to your doc and try to find the right combo for you. Sounds like you have already tryed some so theres no harm in asking to try different ones! Best of luck to you! I am going to bed now as it is 1 am. My hubby is working out of town so I can go ahead and stay up latter without bothering anyone else!
Praying you start getting more sleep!
