I have gone thru a slew of doctors from GI's to PCP's to Rheum's and quite frankly I'm tired. Most are unsympathetic or liars who tell you that they are going to help you but never come thru. I live in the St. Louis, Missouri area if anyone has a suggestion it would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

They dont know that much about fibro either, if they knew how to stop it, how to stop our pain we would know
Its a mystery, they can only do so much and its mostly just give you pain killers.
We have to find out what helps us as individuals and try different things.
I tried all the good doc sites that are recommended by Fibromyalgia Associations and didn't have any luck at all. Some doctors are self referred and only out to make a buck, others were not taking any new patients or did not take my insurance. I live in a big metro area and there were no doctors in my area to chose from. It was a complete waste of time.
I've had some doctors that I thought were trying to help but when I read my medical records it was clear that they thought FM was not a real condition. That was when I first started no longer trusting doctors.
Now I have a doctor that doesn't have a problem treating my pain, but I think she in incompetent in many ways and poo poo's many things that are worrying me so it still isn't a perfect situation. But I'm grateful to have found her. Now the problem is keeping her- if I could only afford to pay my bill.
It seems like in every post if someone complains about their doctor everyone's advise is "just find a new doctor". Obviously they don't have any clue at how difficult it is to find a new doctor.
I was referred to a pain clinic only to be told that they don't treat FM patients.
Sorry if this is turning into a vent....LOL! It is just so frustrating that so many doctors still think this is "all in our head".

So, for Me...if It Feels Good...I Do it...if it Don't, I Don't.
Wishing you good luck! Believe me, a good doc is hard to find, but it is not impossible!
On the rheumy thing: I agree that going onto the Fibromyalgia site is a good idea.
I live in NH---I have a great rheumatologist--I absolutely love her, but went many years without a good one or any treatment.
Pain Clinics have their up sides and down sides---make sure that they fully understand fibromyalgia and any other rheumatic problems that you have.
Good luck. If you are ever coming to NH, or want to make periodic trips let me know. I'd give my doc a five star rating.
Hope you find someone who is compentent, intelligent and most of all compassionate.
