hi I am brand new to this forum. I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia just last year. I am in chronic pain, migraines- needing trigger point injections every two months on a scheduled basis, eyes hurt, difficulty in walking, etc. I'm sure I don't need to tell you all of my symptoms bc you all have felt them. My scenario is this- this past Friday after I got off of work- I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items before going home. As I am walking into the store- I got the worst trigger point knot in my foot and could not move. It was the worst pain that I had felt yet to date- and I have been in some pain. Does anyone else have this happen to them? I want to know that this is normal- I have been really upset this weekend bc I don't want this to become the new norm for me. After standing hunched over the grocery cart- taking my shoe off and trying to work out the knot (myofascial) and letting time go by it finally waned enough for me to limp around to get my four items and left. Please tell me that I'm not alone in this? This has really brought me down.
Thank you for your time

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Fibro can manifest quite differently in people, so like Ida I don't experience that particular symptom in my foot. That doesn't change the fact that it's an awful thing to have to deal with in the middle of the parking lot when you have to get yourself home.
If it helps anything; for me, pretty much all the moments of extreme, far worse than ordinary fibro pain did not linger to become a "new normal." The occasional, terrible extremes remain occasional for me. I hope the same for you.
Welcome again, and this is the right place to talk the fears and frustrations and angers of dealing with fibro. While we all experience it a little differently, we all know what pain can do to a person, and how hard it can be to get understanding or support from our surroundings. Feel free to vent here.
Idajoy- I have constant pain and pins and needles in my extremities all the time- that's why this shocked me. It was something new. And acared me.
To everyone- thank you for your kindness- your welcoming me to the group and for helping me get through this moment. I am sorry that all of you have to endure this pain- disease and all of the symptoms that come with them. But I'm thankful that now I don't feel all alone in my fighting! God bless
Over and over again, hitting the wall so many times.... the key to me, is managing stress. As I have been told by those who came before me. You've got to learn to key in to your body intensely and listen to what it needs.
