breast implants causing fibromyalgia

Hello everyone,  I had a question about breast implants causing autoimmune/ fibromyalgia, etc .


My sister - in - law got breast implants twenty years ago and has been experiencing autoimmune/fibro type symptoms the last 6-9 months.


She has been researching and found some people who had them removed and their symptoms improved and other people who's symptoms didn't improve.


She is looking at having them removed but of course, there are mental, psychological issues with having them replace if there is not much of a chance the symptoms will go away.


Any input will be appreciated !  And....... for once, this is one thing I didn't do , no implants for this girl  :)

It is my understanding that there is no correlation between breast implants and Fibromyalgia and or autoimmune disease.

If it were me, I'd get them removed. Even if my symptoms did not improve it would be worth a try. Has she been checked to make,sure that they are not leaking? Take care.

To forever young1-In the early 90's when I was diagnosed, I did a lot of research into this "new" disease that I had then. There was a lot of information then that silicone implants could cause autoimmune or fibro symptoms. There was a lot about the "gulf-war syndrome" (the early 1990's war), and those symptoms also sounded much like fibromyalgia. It is worth some research. Fibrohyg
