My original intent was to talk about how I will be able to handle the pain of the surgery, and if it does turn out to be cancer, how I can possibly go through all that on top of everything else. I don't really expect any answers, which is why I wanted to delete this. Sorry to waste your time.

Not all pain Meds thin the blood. Hopefully you can take something else for pain. Doctor can advise and give you something.

I am sorry you have this going on. I can imagine you are scared and worrying. Take one thing at a time. It may not be cancer.
And perhaps you can take pain Meds after the procedure. Or there is one that won't interfere with blood thinning. Was all that discussed with your doctor.?

I hope there will be solutions and answers for you.

I echo Nature, not all or many pain meds can thin the blood, and your docs should be able to tell you well in adavance what to do about that---and oalternatives that will be okay.

As for getting through the bipsy: That's step one! No anticipating that nasty C-word yet---yes, it's possible, but the majority of biopsies do turn out to be benign, so hang on to that, okay? ANd if it doesn't turn out okay, then take it one step at a time---we'll be here for you:-)

Fibro can flare from surgery so you might want to make sure going into the bipsy that you give yourself a "flu week" if you can---extra rest, extra fluids, sort of get the body prepped and ready. I find this helps before I even do something like go to my neurologist b/c of how stressed I get!

Thanks you guys! Most pain killers make me throw up so I'm limited in what I can take, but I do have a barbituate with Tylenol and caffeine that should be okay. I was more scared before the ultra sound than I am right now. I was watching the tech for some sign, since I knew she wouldn't tell me anything. When she walked me to the elevator and pushed the button for me, I was thinking I must be dying or she wouldn't be this nice to me. LOL! I will talk to whoever it is I see when I go for the pre-op blood work and pre-admission stuff about the meds. Maybe I'll give my regular doctor a call too.

I have a child, so I will get through whatever I need to get through. That's sort of why I wanted to delete the post. I figure there is no use whining about something when I already know I will do whatever it takes to stay alive till she is grown and on her own. It is nice though, to be able to share my thoughts, and thanks for listening.

Lisa, you seem like an incredible woman/mom! We are here for you! Don't apologize for venting, ok? We all do it. I'm praying for you.

I wouldn't worry too much about the results of the biopsy. It's just a routine thing the do now in an abundance of caution. Lot's of women have an episode of post menopausal bleeding and it means nothing. I was more afraid of the biopsy, since my friends told me, despite what your OB/Gyn says it hurts. I asked her for a Demerol to take before the procedure and she gave me one. So not any worse than a pap smear for me.

Also agree with others....just a day at a time. Will for sure be hoping all goes well with this and that there's minimum stress for you. Gentle hugs

No apologies...you are not wasting our time. Of course you will be apprehensive. I can relate since I have had it all done in the past year. The biopsy was uncomfortable but not unbearable. It is pretty quick. I was not able to take anything either; just some Tylenol. As stated below, the ultrasound and biopsy are process of elimination and standard. I had abnormal bleeding and had both done too. Everything came back normal. It does cause worry though when you are waiting for the results. I wish you the best of luck and hope that they find a cause and solution.

I just went through a similar thing. I had all the symptoms of adrenal tumors. The waiting for the test results is the pits. I had to wait about a week and found out I don't have them. Thank God! I pray your biopsy won't be too painful and that everything is fine. Always feel free to vent here. Only other fibro sufferers truly understand.

Bleeding after menopause is very common. It's wise to do a biopsy but it doesn't mean they think anything is wrong - only that they are being cautious. I've been through it a couple of times in the eight or so years since menopause.

Try not to worry too much. It won't change the outcome, it will just make you tense and make your pain worse.

As others have said, your doctor should be able to tell you what you can take for pain while you're waiting.
