Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

If your bed is older and you can afford it, you might want to consider getting something new. That includes pillows and bedding too. And/or get a good quality memory foam with gel mattress topper. I spent the money and got memory foam pillows about 2 years ago. I love them.
Also, there are some pretty good OTC sleep remedies that can be used. I like Alteril (CVS, Walmart) or Hylands Calms Forte (CVS). I also throw in a tablet of Mid Nite (CVS). None of these cause a hangover effect. It is really important to take a sleep aid with Fibromyalgia. Your muscles require deep sleep in order to repair themselves from the days activities. No deep sleep means higher levels of pain. Your doctor can also prescribe something.
Some people take a hot shower or Epsom Salts bath before bed too.
I hope that my comments are helpful to you.
I will look into getting new pillows ( hopefully a new mattress later ).
I will try the OTC sleep aids. I know that deep sleep is very important for our bodies so they can repair and I am on the hunt .
I trust this wonderful group of fibro friends !! Your recommendations are invaluable to me.
Thank you so much !! Blessings and a warm, gentle hug !!
I've used Melatonin but like a lot of other people on here found that it gave me a bad hangover. If you want to try it, do it on a weekend when you have no plans. That is why I left it out of my recommendations of OTC meds.
Take care.
