Helloooo everyone... I am back. lol. OK i was just wondering if any one else has animals that seem to have a sixth sense as to when your about to flare pretty bad.
I decided that i wanted an older mature dog in January and Feb. I didnt want to deal with the puppy stage, i was looking at shelters and animal rescue groups for a while until i found my sweet cheeks Pepper.
He is a purebred Shnauzer, salt and pepper of course. I was at the shelter look at doggies when i saw him scrauny and hairy. BUT i noticed he howled ALOT. so much so that i had crossed him off my list. BUT as i looked at other animals (in our local shelter you can see clear through to the other side its pretty much windows) I saw that he wasnt going to the window or howling at any one else. I walked by him again and he looked me dead in the eye and started whining and howling. I decided to put my self of a 6 person long waiting list and lo and behold when the time came for his hold to be over i was the only one there.
I bring him home and he is the sweetest little doggie and seems to attach himself to me instantly. After about a week i noticed that when i started to get achy he could come and nose his way under my arm and lick me. nights before a really bad day he comes and puts his paw on my hand and gives me a look. I cant really explain it but i can swear to you he is like a pre warning signal.
I know it sounds weird, but he has actually motivated me to get out and be little more active. I take him on walks and i will psh myself a little harder because i know that he really enjoys them .
Thanks for reading, i would love to hear about others animal experiences.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

So for him, I did, and then he'd cuddle me after.
He always knew when I needed a cuddle, too.
I miss him dearly. I have a thousand stories about such things with animal friends---they're amazing to me. So much more selfless than humans!
Seven years later and only two dogs he is my unofficial therapy dog. On bad days he will follow me around til I sit down and cuddle. He knows the days I need the extra love.
When I went through cancer treatment I have only one picture, me in the recliner with my two dags all cuddled in with me and my heating pad. At that time they both were my constant companions. I need them as much as thsy need me.
When I write down three things to be happy for they are almost always sure to be one,

he never says hurtful things! And he loves to get down on the rug with me and do some stretches (I should say he lies stretched out while I'm stretching).
I have a Service Dog and one in training to take her place at the moment. While service dogs are trained on a "que" be it a verbal, physical, or situational one seizure dogs (for instance) are trained to respond to a seizure that has already happened. Then the orgs hope over time the dog will learn to predict the seizure. Once the dog is predicting it in some manor they usually will shape the behaviour.
I don't have seizures but my first Service Dog knew that was what I got her for. She was able to alert to my dissociative episodes as a puppy and later I figured out my physical cue (being my body freezes and my eyes stop blinking and stare)
It is kinda cool that you found this dog who can predict your flares and very lucky. Dogs can be great companions and life savers. Theres many stories of animals who weren't even trained calling emergency or alerting to heart attacks etc before they happen. I think animals are just more in tune with certain things then we are. However I don't think humans can't be just as in-tune. I think we just forgot or decide it's not real because society would "deem us crazy" if we could predict things or know something will happen before it does unless it's a simple de-ja-vu. Believe me, people call you crazy or think your an alien..
