To clarify, I didn't mean that the money-maker schemers were the DS members who are here to truly be helped and give help. There are a lot of promoters for those schemers who join this site to only post about their product or treatment or whatever. How can you say no one here is vulnerable? We're all sick! Of course at times, we can find ourselves believing in this schemes, only to waste time and money (and mental health) on the pursuit to give us happiness and good health. So why aren't people allowed to question what they doubt, without a self-righteous attitude in response?
Earthing or Grounding as it's called in other methods, is a practice used in many forms of meditation. The fact that it's scientifically proven to have benefits just strengthens the importance of using it during meditation.
Good article aside from the fact it promotes selling a book.
In any case, I was convinced enough by the science (having read the book... the article wasn't promoting the selling of the book, but was a doctor's review of that book as well as the treatment it espouses) to try the product. We got it set up (easy as anything) today and have tried it out briefly and I do believe I had some good effects. They last only about as long as you've used it, which is why the recommendation is to use it during the whole of sleeping time.
I had more pain than usual this morning because I had forgotten to take my clon and LDN but after using the conductive grounding pad, I did feel better than I usually do!
No, I haven't read the book, but as a nurse I can't off the top of my head see how "grounding" or walking on dirt/grass is going to thin the blood. If that's true I wonder why the medical profession doesn't warn Coumadin users against the potential risk of walking barefoot, except to take care not to cut oneself due to the possible increase risk of bleeding.
On a personal note: my old pain management doc suggested I stand outside in the grass barefoot for 5 mins 3 times a day. His theory was basically what I would imagine the author of this books theory is. He put it simply this way: the earth releases negative ions in the body through the feet which he felt allows the CNS to function better and hence decrease pain. I did try it for several months. It was great getting out of the house, the grass felt good on my feet and it was relaxing. My pain didn't decrease, but my emotional state improved :-)

Remember, people who have spent their time in conductive contact with the earth all along would probably not be ON Coumadin in the first place.
Think about cigarette smoking for a moment. For years, as research was ongoing and it was more and more known to be fact that smoking caused great physical harm, the medical establishment was not warning the populace against smoking. Many a doctor smoked and did not urge patients to avoid it. It took time, a long time after the facts were known. You can consider this to be similar. The smoking didn't suddenly start to be harmful. It took time to realize, then it took time to convince skeptics, then it took time to get it out there, and it took time for the public to accept and act.
Lastly, if you would like me to, I could expound on HOW the effects of the electrons faciliate the thinning of the blood. It actually repels the cells, so that they are not coagulating and clumping. Makes sense, right?
