Not sure where a good spot to put this so here it goes.
I started seeing a rheumatologist this last year to cope with the joint and muscle pain I have been having the last two years. My PCP had nothing in the way of advice or treatment.
I like the doctor but he is going at it with the arthritis angle and treatment is not working well.
I have tried to discuss this with him him to no avail. After discussing it with a family member with fibro, it fits so many of my symptoms. Should I look at changing doctors?
Right now he has me on Prednisone, Folic Acid and Methotrexate.
I almost feel worse. My hair is falling out and I feel sicker than I have in a while. Thoughts?

You may like your PCP but he/she hasn't done you any favors. He should have referred you as soon as it became apparent that his treatment isn't working. The fact that they don't listen would be enough to make me find someone else. You deserve a better quality of life.
Good luck to you and take care.
There is no stigma other than in your doctor's mind about Fibromyalgia. You clearly need to see someone else. Take care.
In my opinion, you should look for a new doctor or at least get a referral to a Rheumatologist.
Just my two cents.
For the Prednisone and Methotrexate, when he ran blood tests he said I have inflammation markers in my blood as well as being moderately anemic, and my platelet levels are high what ever that means. The Pred did make me feel somewhat better in the beginning, but its not helping as much lately. Not to mention I have been having severe night sweats, and all I want to do is sleep.
I think I will try and schedule an appt with my PCP to see if she can recommend someone else a little more proactive.
