Any good ideas on dealing with exhaustion? I am having terrible fatigue and so tired all of the time. I am on Cymbalta 60mg and due to my Colitis can't have caffeine. I am struggling to get out of bed and am worn out after I shower and get to work, I just want to crawl under my desk and nap. Everyone keeps telling me to get more sleep but I don't sleep well and no matter how long I stay in bed it doesn't seem to help.

Have you had a sleep study done? Fibromyalgia interrupts the deep sleep cycle with short bursts of high intensity brain activity. Your muscles require deep sleep in order to recover from the days activities. No deep sleep means higher levels of pain and cognitive issues. That is why no amount of sleep makes you feel rested. Managing the sleep issues associated with Fibromyalgia is a critical part of treatment. You should be taking a medication for sleep such as Amitriptyline or something else. Get a study done to clarify what is happening while you sleep. You may have apnea or something else that is really interfering with your sleep in addition to Fibromyalgia.
Caffeine is not the answer. That and ingesting sugar will make your blood sugar spike and then crash even harder. You could try eating smaller high protein meals more often throughout the day.
Vitamin B12 with folic acid to help it absorb is useful. Get the sublingual version that dissolve under the tongue. B12 is passed in your urine.
D-Ribose is a supplement that can help with energy too. I like the brand called Corvalen. You can Google to read about it and order it online.
Bottom line, supplements to prop up your energy levels are helpful but you need to examine the root cause first by seeing your doctor. The backlash from using energy supplements can be worse than the existing problem. Good luck and take care.
If not your thyroid, then it's probably chronic fatigue and the fibro.
I agree on the caffeine and sugar as Fantom mentioned.
