Sounds like you need to get to dr because that is not fibro. Hope you get better soon.

Waiting for my doctor to send a referral to see a rhemotologist he's refusing though

I have all the fibro sx for years mentioned here, but also have kidney stones and daily blood in my urine for 10 yrs. I have severe plantar fascitis, and osteoporosis. But I also get ankle/feet swelling, and strange sores on my face, and rest of my body. It is not acne. I feel I also have an autoimmune condition such as Lupus, but my doctor has not tested me, and also have heard you need a very good specialist in Lupus as there is a 40% false negative result on the test which is huge. I also heard that Lyme disease is prevalent and can cause a lot of sx attributed to fibro, and the docs have refused to test for this, but need to know what to look for also. I have not given up, and I also have a broken back from a car accident, and another back injury from being slammed down onto a metal safe by accident. Dental issues too. It is overwhelming, especially on low income. I would appreciate any suggestions.

If your doctor is refusing to give you a referral, you need to get a new doctor, or get yourself to the ER. I always put off going to an ER when things were bad, and I never seem to be able to "catch' my blood work when it's really off. For instance, I didn't go see a doctor when I went blind. MIght have had high titers then. Don't postpone. Ask them to test you for ANAs. It's hard enough to get a lupus diagnosis. Also, if it is pericarditis you can have lasting damage. I've spent 36 years with the does she have lupus or doesn't she have. While you're having symptoms-go!

Agreed --- get to an ER always with ANY chest pain, and do it when you have symptoms. That includes your rash etc.---it could be autoimmune, it could bea ny number of things, and the ER can at least rule out some, and many ERs will refer you to a doc if you request it (or not, in my case, LOL)....

Amber - you need to insist on the referral. What you are describing is not Fibromyalgia. If he won't do it, call and complain to your HMO. Your symptoms warrant seeing a specialist immediately. Favourites if your rash incase it is gone by the time you get to the Rheumy.

You should also insist on a cardiac work up. The next time you have chest pains, don't call that idiot. Any doctor who tells a patient with chest pains and dizziness that is probably nothing should not have a license to practice medicine. Be safe and go straight to ER. Take care.

Darn auto correct - that would be photograph your rash so you can show the rheumy in the event it is gone by the time that you see them.

I take pictures of my rash everyday! It gets a lot worse in the sun and gets very warm so I make sure to take pics of that too! I got lots of sleep last night feeling a little better, very sore and weak still.

Keep logging your symptoms so that you can give the log to your doctor or emergency room doctor (keep copy for you!!) This sounds so scary and I hope you get help soon.

Definitely time for a new doctor! I hope he has good malpractice insurance; he's gonna need it if he continues to treat patients this way.

Meanwhile, a trip to the ER is definitely in order, and maybe your insurance plan rep can recommend a doctor who will help you, not give you the brush off.

Alright Amber, this is the last time I will say this....Go to the ER.

I had pericarditis from a Viral Infection that is part of Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency. It wasn't until 3 months later that my female cardiologist caught a problem in an Echocardiagram showing INFLAMMATION around the heart. The virus had progress for 3 months...waxing and waning with different symptoms that I brushed off.

This is not something to mess around with. You are worrying us and that does us nor you any good. At the ER they can do blood tests, like AnnNY said, to check for inflammation for autoimmune problems with your rash. It could be other viral infections like Parvovirus 5, also common with CFIDS. This accompanies a hive/rash outbreak.
Blood tests, EKG, minimally to do. Tell them about all your issues so an Internist on duty can explore different tests they may need to do. ER is taken care of on all health insurance plans. They will not ask you to pay (I am a health insurance agent).
