I am almost positive that I have Fibromyalgia. I could use some opinions please. I have PTSD (years of incest) which I believe contributed to this self dx. I have gone from strange tinglings to full blown pain in many parts of my body. I also have lived in a very stressful marriage for years. My sister was dx years ago with Fibromyalgia.
What do you think? Ps. It is 2:45 am here and I am awake with pain.
I also have a strange tingling in my face. Weird.

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

None of us here re qualified for anything other than personal, not *medical*, opinions. We're not doctors, etc., so there's the disclaimer.
That said, I was dx'd by a rheumy in 1995, when it was the "mystery girls get this because they're psycho" disease in many medical mauals. My *male* rheumy had it, btw, secondary to another issue, so obviously that's the first of many adventures I had.
From what you describe, however, from tingling to pain? Please, see a neurologist. Neuros are often those who dx fibro, and/or rule out a lot of the other "suspects"--- lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, disc degeneration, nerve impaction, multiple sclerosis, etc. --- and may even check out malnutrition, chemical exposure, etc., as well. It's a diagnosis of elimination. When you test negative for known diseases, it's "fibro".
Thus, we here have, over my six years on this awesome board, concluded it's a "cluster" of ailments that present alike but do not necessarily share the same cause. It is the closest we humble patients can come to explanation for the fact one class of drugs does wonders for some, and nothing for others, and so forth. (I have epilepsy, which has "types", also, hence my tendency to think that way to begin with.)
If the tingling becomes painful, or goes to numbness, *please* go to an ER, okay? We've had people here die or suffer badly b/c they assumed "it's just fibro", and it was something else. The pain and fatigue of fibro overlap and can mask some things which require a trained medical professional to detect.
Luck and blessing,
Leo
PS If you do get a definitive dx? "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" is a great guide book foryou, loved ones, and for those days you want to swat doctors.
I have numbness in my right thigh. I have it for years. Mostly when I stand or walk for any length of time. They tested with X-ray and nerve tests(ouch). No diagnosis.
As she says, it is a process of ruling out other things, and the way to do that is testing.....and then some. And like she said, what works for one likely will not help another.
There are lots of symptoms that do seem to afflict most of us, to varying degrees. Some more fatigue, some more pain, etc.
This is a great group for info and support. Lots of us have had fibro a long time (me for 27 yrs) and are happy to share.
And that book Leo recommended is awesome.
Keep us posted, and HUGS from down south :)
Why do you have to go thru so many tests? How many other issues have the Same symptoms as fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. When every other reason that could cause widespread chronic pain is ruled out, Fibromyalgia is the *winner.* There are plenty of reasons that you may have something other than Fibromyalgia (FMS). Hence the need for lots of tests and blood work.
That doesn't mean that it is not a valid diagnosis. Fibromyalgia is recognized by the Centers for Disease Control, the National Arthritis Foundation and the World Health Organization. It has its own diagnostic code too which means all the naysayers out there can just shut the h*ll up. It is real and we are not a bunch of neurotic hypochondriacs.
I second Leo's suggestion to purchase "Fibromyalgia for Dummies." Good book and very helpful when educating family, friends and sometimes doctors.
Take care.
I had MS ruled out as well, along with a variety of other things, including RA. Then, saw the neurologist, did the 18 pt exam....that, along with other negative tests, gave us the fibro diagnosis.
