i pretty much stopped it cold turkey and didnt notice any problems. I too dont think it did a whole lot for me. I am bi polar and it has become one of my meds in my coctail and I dont want to loose stability. So when I have this baby Im brewing I am probally going back on it but as for the fibro I dont buy that it did a single thing

Everybody's body is different. I didn't have any side effects going off it was the side effects of using it was why I got off. My mind doesn't work very good as it is and I had hellucinations with it ! Yikes !

Oh My God...there are web-sites dedicated to stopping Cymbalta. I am serious..it took me 2 years to stip it. I would get so far and so sick I would start again just to stop the horrible side effects. It is like loosing your mind. I am sorry. Some say Benedryl helps.

Thanks so much for your replies. I've heard from this sight that stopping Cymbalta can cause bad side effects. Not looking forward to this. Has anyone had problems with constipation when taking Cymbalta? I'm just hoping when I stop I will get some relief.

I have been on Cymbalta 60 mgs. (take two pills daily) and so far have only experienced weight gain while I am on it. I really need to loose some pounds - at 225 now and should be back to 160 before my trip overseas next year. I am going to try to stay on it - but to eat the right foods ie. no snacks like candy or tortilla chips.

It's really unusual how different people react to the same medicine. I had do problem with my weight. In what way did Cymbalta help you?

It has eased my pain so much that I wish that I could take it as much as two times a day instead of two in the morning. When I see my Rheumy again in Jan. I am going to ask her about it.

I wouldn't stop taking it cold turkey, there are people who don't have side effects and others who do... I'd tell the doc I'm stopping too.

I agree with BUDERFLY. I had a HORRIFIC time getting off Cymbalta. That stuff is utter poison!!!!!!!!! I gained 15 lbs, MAJOR brain zaps, nausea, WORSE PAIN! Those were the withdrawal symptoms. It took me 3 months to get off of it. I just didnt it recently. I wish I never took that crap!
Some may have no side effects but I would suggest to definitely NOT go cold turkey. You could wind up in the E.R. It is better to assume you will have withdrawals than to not.

I was on Cymbalta at 120mg.. I had horrible constipation.. it was so frustrating. I tried so many different laxatives and there was no movement..
Anyways.. When i eventually got of Cymbalta.. (Another loonng story) I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis...(Caused by the extreme constipation). I still am affected by that as my bowels are not quite the same...
I wish u luck and hope u speak to you doctor soon about this..

One of the main reasons I am going off of Cymbalta was because of the severe constipation. Sorry you had such a bad outcome. You mentioned stopping Cymbalta was a long story. Pleas let me know just how bad it is. Right now I am taking a reduced dose every othew day.{I have been tapering off}
